Yeah I posted that 2 pages back but no one responded. Either no one else thought it was funny or. . . . .

everyone's blocked me.

The one you posted is the original but personally I like this version better.

I like it. Anything but gold. I knew a guy who was in the military and his ring was tungsten and it was awesome.

I'm down to 197 from 206. I'd like to be between 170-175 although I probably won't get there by my wedding (August).

Crazy thing though, I looked at my measurements today vs a few years ago, and my lean body mass is around 145 right now. This time last year (before I started working out, albeit sporadically), it was 135 (at 190 pounds). I knew I looked more muscular but didn't realize I put on that in that time. And that was up from 125 pounds lean mass a few years earlier.

Now if I can just hang on to that lean mass while I burn fat, I'll be golden.
I really recommend Myfitnesspal to anybody trying to lose weight. It's a calorie/exercise tracking app. You put in your weight, and your weight loss goal and it gives you a calorie goal per day. The barcode scanner and search function work great and it makes it easy to track what you're eating.

Just logging the calories makes it easier to make better diet decisions because i have to look at the poor choices I make.

I also added cardio (biking at the gym, will move it outside once the snow goes away) which i'm sure has helped.

Here's what I gathered:

Gold is fine but compared to newer metals is expensive and higher maintenance.
Tungsten is out because it's heavy and the possibility of shattering.
Titanium is a little lighter weight than Cobalt.
Cobalt is a little brighter color and can be polished up more.

So you'd end up with a ring that looks like platinum, is scratch resistant and never needs re-plating, and is cheaper than traditional rings.

Just an FYI
If you go with tungsten or titanium you cannot re-size the ring if needed.

sounds like the only drawback to cobalt is the fact that it isn't an "investment" piece that will appreciate later (like now when companies are begging people to hawk their jewelery). i don't think it was around when i got married or i would have strongly considered it for my band, but my wife i get platinum stuff. It was kind of stupid how expensive a plain plat band was...

One plus for the cobalt is that when you are old you can melt it down and save a bit on your hip replacement.
