That could be good meme material for Sirquacksalot. "Run non-sharks goalie, good hockey play. Run Niemi,..."

Well, they'd be in good position to know whether the Sharks are acquiring Perry. This doesn't bode well.

Perfect

So Feaster says O'Reilly's a franchise type player, but then at the same time he thought the asking price was too high. Now apparently he's looking to make another move, the mgmt in CGY is hilarious. Imagine if they brought Jokinen back

I am blown away by this whole Feaster offer. How could the Calgary management screw up so badly?

It is pretty comical........you know someone would have claimed him during the waiver period. They would have lost the picks and the player. If I were running the Avs, I would have taken the picks and watched Calgary burn to the ground.

I can just picture the Columbus GM. He hears about the offer sheet, and his eyes go to the size of dinner plates.

I thought it had been determined that whole story was wrong? He would not have been subject to waivers?

I believe that was debunked, and only applied to Colorado.

Pretty sure Mckenzie and Burnside both stated he would have gone to waivers if the Avs did not match. Waivers do not apply to the Avs cause he is there own RFA.

Why do the Kings care so much about our Fenwick status?

Last I checked, what mattered are the results on the ice, and the standings.

Well, with threads getting combined and moved I may have missed something but I thought the CBA that addressed such issues, only specifically addressed ufas signing mid season but that most folks assumed it would be the same for rfas. And the new CBA exempted players from waivers for either team if they were on the reserve list of the original team. Or so I thought.

Seriously, how fast would have Fester been fired? 5 minutes? 10?

Hypothetically, yes. They could have ended up with the draft picks, and re-acquired ROR.

Someone tweeted that Avs haven't filed the paperwork for the offer sheet match yet. What could Columbus give the Avs to not match and let ROR slip to them? They'd already have the picks from CAL..

Fake stats for fake fans?

Considering moneyball never won anything in baseball where the stats are at least only based on an individual player I fail to see why people think they're relevant in a sport where those values are heavily determined by all the other players on the ice.

omg. that would've been absolutely HILARIOUS. CBJ would've gotten a nice pickup, their fans would've loved that.

the calgary GM really needs to be fired. he clearly did not understand the rules and he's been screwing around with that flames franchise.. if they started a rebuild when they should've they could be close to being real good by now

Nice to see Benn only getting a fine for what would have been a sure suspension to a Ducks player.

Now that's an interesting scenario. I imagine the Avs move quick to make it official, if they haven't already, as they need that 1-year window where they can't trade ROR to start ASAP. With a bit of luck they'll be able to trade him right at next year's deadline. Damn, I wish Colorado would've been first for waiver priority though, that would've been amazing.

And how Feaster still has a job is astounding.
