Gimme your top six D-men

Or the ones you'd like to make the team next year.

Mine are as follows

1. Aucoin
2. Vandermeer
3. Seabrook
4. Keith
5. Barker
6. Bubba (Dustin Byfuglien)

I know passed on Cullimore but he had the worst plus minus on the team for defensemen and would better serve as trade bait and or insurance in case one of the kids doesn't pan out.

1. Aucoin
2. Seabrook
3. Vandermeer
4. Keith
5. Cullimore
6. Barker/Kukkonen

If Barker isn't 110% ready send him to the AHL. We don't want to turn him into Steve McCarthy #2.

Kukkonen will surprise

Lasse Kukkonen will earn top four ice time by the time camp is over.
Barker has great potential but so many dmen have been ruined being force fed into the NHL....

Cullimore has got to be in the mix IMO. And Seabrook should build on his stellar opening performance as well.

If Aucoin is Healthy:

Aucoin/Barker
Seabrook/Kukkonen (Cullimore)
Keith/Vandermeer

I forget about Kukkonen being in the mix in a already crowded defensive corps. Gives the team a nice problem in the pre-season. I seem to be in the minority of those who would give Byfuglien a chance but the guy really earned my respect. He was like a dog in heat hittting everything that came along. And lets not forget he broke Dallas Drakes' ribs and tore up his knee cartlidge as he absolutely plastered him along the bench.

With the performance Barker has had at training camp along with his stellar pre-season last year I'd say he is a lock for the team. Barker really steps it up in things that mean something.

1. Aucoin
2. Seabrook
3. Vandy
4. Keith
5. Kukkonen
6. Barker

(Cullimore)

I really like Buff and wish he was on the team, but that would be too much youth, maybe its good to have cullimore around.

The 3-6 spots could easily switch around, especially Kukk or Barker they have tons of potential.

Even without Byfuglien that d corps is very young and lite on experience.

I don't want to have veteran experience in that lineup just for the sake of it (ie. Cullimore) but I look at those guys and every single one of them has to be above average and overachieve, in most cases, for this team to do anything next year.
