Did any other team attempt to offer Doughty last year?

None reported. Kings had plenty of cap space, no reason to try.

Plus I don't think doughty wanted to play for anyone other than the kings.

Sure beats all the "join date: 2013" ducks fans

I'm sure there were offers but were any real or even better than where the Kings started at.

There are many more offers made it's just there aren't many signed. Because the way things work if you don't want to be stuck with it don't sign it.

They can offer but the player has to sign the deal for it to go public.

I never questioned Doughty's will to play here. I know (we all know) he's a King at heart. It's very satisfying to know that. It was only about the $$$.

it gets worse day by day. i notice another plate frame on a car, a bumper sticker, a Hawks wallpaper on a computer, etc. people that i've never seen wear anything related to the team, or even talk puck....well suddenly they're a big fan.

the local media keeps adding fuel to the fire also. the sports folks are slobbering all over them. one station a few nights back had a poll, which team would win? the '85 Bear or the '13 Hawks? seriously? how the hell do you even compare this. just outright foolishness.

the Hawks bandwagon bus is cranked up and gaining speed with every win. don't get me wrong, i like the Hawks. they have some great players and i can appreciate what they bring, but this is getting just dumb.

i just keep my mouth shut and half the time ive got a Kings SC hat on anyways. the hat speaks for me. "nice win streak, but LA has the Cup". i've found a quick way to discern the real hockey and Hawks fans also. when they start popping off about the record, i bring up the presidents trophy. fans that know instantly clam up. they know what having the best regular season record gets them in the POs....nothing.

I was just looking at the schedule, and noticed that PHX plays ANA in each of their next 3 games, bizarre. I know the Kings play CGY in back to back games at home in march, but 3 in a row seemed strange.

They play Dallas three times in a row also. That could easily decide the Pacific for Anaheim.

Crawford left after the 1st with the good old upper body injury and is day to day. first possible test to their depth if he's out for a while. i know he was out earlier also, but Q said the two aren't related (both are/were upper body). who knows, since NHL injury reports are more closely guarded than the launch codes for the nukes. the back up in Rockford is a no name, hell even the guys i know that are 'real' Hawks fans don't know about him

And it shouldn't be, because they share their arena with no one.

Hopefully it helps us. However I could see them all being shootout games and both teams splitting the series evenly

St. louis, dallas, phoenix and calgary all down for the count, and no three pointers to boot. Outstanding.

Sharks and Wings spoiled the night and went to a shootout. Wings get the extra point.

If it's going to go to OT, better that the game ends in a shootout so there's no ROW handed out.

So true.

But in theory, if lets say ANA were to take all 3 in regulation and the Kings were to go 2-1-0 in the 3 they play in that same timeframe, that would put 5 points between them and PHX while maintaining 2 games in-hand.

Even though the Hawks won, they looked lulz. They won't win the Cup. I bet you they go out first round.
