you're underrating him, he was a prototypical fourth liner and not as bad defensively as you think, perfect role player

He hit way better than Weise and fought way better than Weise, chipped in offensively with a goal and made the simple play in his own zone. Lapierre has struggled more in the defensive end.

No. Volpatti is a disaster in all three zones outside of his ability to hit. He's pretty much incapable of receiving a pass cleanly and moving it forward.

Volpatti is absolutely terrible defensively.

None of the above is accurate about Volpatti. This was a good claim by Washington. Good 4th liner, great guy. He's all about his teammates.
