He is gonna be solid for Canucks. He scored 2 beauties in one game this year on same move . I am by no means saying he is a goal scorer, but the ability is there to maybe be a 3rd line banger that can chip in some offesne. Or worst case, a 4th line wrecking ball that will stand up for him team and can take on most guys in NHL ( less some true HW's)

Rinaldo maked him expendable on FLyers, Sestitto is by far tougher, but Zac skates alot better and has a bigger upside imo.

Considering how big he is, his speed is pretty good.

I liked Sestito when he was here, and I don't think he ever really got a shot. Not happy about losing him, especially considering how he's younger and better than Knuble, but Knuble remains on the roster.

I disagree with you there on that point. They both are tough players but Zac has learned how to harness his anger. I like Tom and am happy for him. He is a willing combatant and good teammate, but for his size and toughness he is a terrible fighter and he does have some issues with concussions.

Good luck.

Except he's not better than Knuble, even at Knuble's current level of play. Sestito only scored three points the entire time he was in the Flyer's organization. Knuble has doubled that in just three weeks. Sestito is what he is, he'll forecheck and stand up for teammates, albeit poorly. He can take a normal shift on a fourth line, but no respectable offense has him anywhere near their top nine. Knuble's not anything to write home about, but he can still play on a third line and contribute a net presence on a second powerplay unit.

That's one less dirty player the Bruins have to play this year so I'm happy. What he has that Volpatti doesn't is NHL Heavyweight size.

Pittsburgh got their rematch when they lost to Detroit....let's not totally count out a Canucks-Bruins final in the immediate future

So he's bigger, can skate similarly to Volpatti, forechecks at least as well....but can he play center?

As a Flyers fan, let me say Vancouver is really going to like Sestito. He's skates really well for a big guy. His hands around the net aren't bad at all, and he hits. I am actually quite dissapointed that Holmgren let him go. I think he adds a lot to a 4th line. In my opinion, Lavvy never gave him a fair chance. And yes, he is 10x better than Knuble. I have no clue why they didn't release him instead.

Sestito can hit, he skates well for his size and he will always be the first player to stick up for his teammate. He will be a fan favorite for Vancouver.

Can we please stop judging players by comparing them to Knuble?

Yeah, Canucks needed to replace their 'hit Horton in the head' player after Rome took off i guess.

I had never heard before that CBJ declined a 1st for him. Ouch. He played OK but was obviously never going to be much more than a 4th liner in my opinion.

I did like that he has the same exact birthday as me.

If they have a roster spot for Sestito then why waive Volpatti?

They wanted to get Volpatti in the minor to get more ice time and work on the PK. So the story goes.

let's be honest, that story is not entirely true, especially seeing as lthough it was likely that he was going to get picked up. Something is brewing imo

That honestly means nothing. Countless 20 year olds light the lamp in junior.
