Florida and Alex Kovalev parting ways?

per George Richards
Quote:
Alex Kovalev did practice on Thursday but did not have a locker stall inside arena last night. Did not skate w/ #FlaPanthers on Friday.
Quote:
Looks like Alex Kovalev's time with #FlaPanthers is over. He isn't traveling with team, looking 'at other options.'
per Harvey Fialkov
Quote:
Kovalev will not travel and Dineensaid anniuncement is pending. Sounds like a buyout #flapanthers
Kovalev cannot be bought out, in the traditional sense, but he and Florida could agree to terminate his contract. I'd assume he will go on waivers, then have his contract terminated, and see if he can catch on somewhere.

I said that right from the moment on, they signed him, that he is more than done. But I also blame him for trying again, I mean, every idiot could have called that he is not good enough anymore. I guess that every prospect that got drafted last year skates better than that guy. He is also so soft, I don't even have a word for that.

I can't stand Kovalev. Such a prima donna.

Good riddance.

As much as I'd like to see him back with MTL, I think he'd be more of a hinderance at this point.

Per Renaud Lavoie, the Panthers want Kovalev to retire, but Kovalev doesn't want to because he wants to get the money he signed for.

If only there was some kind of "demonstration hockey" where he could travel around and show off his skills.

It's called being a coach.

I was just shocked he put up 3 points his first game. Not surprised he didn't show up after that.
