Ryan Johansen

I hate to see a talented prospect like Johansen ruined because of circumstances in Columbus. He's certainly not having a good year, given what's happened to him this season.

What do you think is the current value of Ryan Johansen?

the asking price two years ago by the BJs was Eberle from edmonton(oil change 1)

Still love the kid and at 6.3 and it takes awhile for them to develop-- I am still high on the guy and think the price would be very high

I think it's a situation where his value isn't high enough to trade him, unless there is another similar "change of scenery" prospect. Columbus can't trade him and have him end up being a 75 pt player somewhere else.

His value is low right now. No reason to trade him. New management in Columbus. Let's see how this plays out and what they value his services. He's playing top line tonight according to the beat writers in Columbus. Let's see how this plays out.

I really don't think he gets moved.

And he isn't being ruined in Columbus I don't think. They're taking it slow with him giving him ample time in the AHL. Sure he has played well but he isn't producing and part of that is on him (as well as him having no quality linemates). He's up in the NHL right now because Columbus once again has lots of players out with injury.

When we let young guys play in the NHL, it's "oh no they're rushing him!"

When we force young players to play in the AHL it's "oh no they're holding him back!"

I guess there's really no happy medium until guys just miraculously start producing like they're expected to.

You would never get Eberle for him. Like others have said his value is low and he's worth more to the bj's right now.

Nobody is saying we could get Eberle for him. They are saying that's what it would take (from the CBJ fans' points of view). Because we can't get someone like Eberle, Johansen won't be traded.

To rephrase - Johansen IS available but at a cost that makes him for all intents and purposes unavailable.

How about

Subban + Leblanc + gionta vs johansen + nyr 1round + LAK 1round

With subban u will get a superstar dman
Leblanc will bring dept up your centre .. Former 1 round
Gionta bring vet presence and he could score

Mtl get , a young struggling centre man but with very good upside
2 first round pick that will probably be in the 15 to 25 range but it a deep draft

Subban = johansen + 1round
Leblanc + gionta = 1round

What player outside of Tavares/Hamonic/Strome/Nino could interest you from the Islanders?

Would be cool to reunite Johansen and Nino

Can Montreal at least add in a bottle of Astroglide? Otherwise this is just cruel...

Those 3 assets aren't going anywhere. They are crucial to rebuilding the team. K thx bye

His value is probably another struggling yug player like Brett Connolly or Josh Bailey+.

If someone watched him tonight in Chicago... He definitely didn't look like a ruined prospect, more like a budding star. His partners couldn't finish his passes, he created breakaway opportunity all by himself and eventually scored a beautiful goal.

Where do people get the idea Connolly is struggling? He was just named the AHL player of the month and is just under a PPG.

He has real good potential, he is a part of their core, CBJ would be foolish to trade him.

Johansen is unique player. Tonight he scored a goal in the NHL game for Columbus: http://www.nhl.com/ice/boxscore.htm?id=2012020300
and an assist in the AHL game for Springfield:
