Hmmm...I think the most obvious thing to read into that is that Bourque is going on LTIR. Only situation in which we'd be able to add a body without shipping one out.

This might mean one or both of these 2 things:

1. Bourque/Diaz might not be back soon and there's an open roster spot
2. Habs might be in search of a fighter with size but only if he has some hockey skill (40+ goal guy in his final year in the OHL).

Option 2 seems like the most likely to me

I'll add:

3. Habs may have had a deal ready to go for Weber (or Kaberle lol) to clear up a roster spot.

Feaster.

Well, if it's the OWNER telling him to do that, he'd probably be getting a raise for toeing the company line.

Has anyone paid attention to O'Byrne this year? How's he playing? UFA at season's end, and Colorado owes us one for Palushaj

Avs fans seem to hate him.

Oh and Palushaj is now a healthy scratch.

Interesting, he's playing 19 minutes game. I feel like he would diversify the blueline. Douglas Murray was also a healthy wasn't he? Any thoughts? Trying to think what this team will add to their blueline as the year goes on and I'm thinking a gritty bottom pairing UFA-to-be defenceman is the move.

Plekanec's winger is out with a concussion. No, I won't go there. It's not 2008. I won't go there. It's not 2008. I won't go there. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh to see Kovy throw down a playoff goal in the Bell Centre this season would be magic.

The Blackhawks would have a pretty good chance of breaking The Habs 1976-77 record of 132 points (60-8-12) if this was a full season. They're a quarter of the way through with no losses and three OT losses which is the same as a tie in the old days. Pretty impressive.

Hopefully it means we NEVER see another thread on this board asking if we should sign Kovalev again

But who am I kidding...

He's a bottom pairing D... He sucks at offense, hes steady but will make mistakes.

Douglas Murray is done, do not want.

This is a short season and Chicago does not play any team from the East. Bottom line, I do see any team that can break the Habs 76-77 records.

I'm don't think Murray is done, but he isn't as good as some on here who fantasize about him and Clowe every week.

Anyone think Panthers fans will have a manifestation outside their Arena to bring him back?

I wonder if Florida will miss all that offence Kovalev brought them.

He can go keep Akost and Radulov company.

Suter and Parise.

The posterboys (so far) for the dangers of chasing 'big ticket' UFAs.

Enjoy the decade to come, Wild fans.

They are 4-1-1 in their last 6 games. I doubt they are pissed.
