He's played enough wing to be listed as a winger or a centre in most fantasy leagues (IIRC he needs to play at least 7 - 14 games as a winger ever year or two or something to remain that way). I personally don't watch them enough to know how often he plays either position -- just that he has played on the wing and centre.

EDIT: NVM he must have lost his eligibility last year. But this is a quote from February 10th:

Quote:
Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards has shaken up his lines for Sunday's game against the Oilers.
Among the changes is the shifting of Derick Brassard back to his natural center position. Brassard had been skating on the wing this year, but is expected to line up between Derek Dorsett and R.J. Umberger against Edmonton. While his season has rightly been thought of as a disappointment so far, it's important to note that Brassard is tied with Mark Letestu for the team lead in points among forwards with six.
Related: R.J. Umberger, Derek Dorsett, Mark Letestu

he's a natural playmaking center who doesnt shoot enough, not at all a physical, corner working, scoring winger.

You can work your dream of moving Turris to the wing and having Brassard be his center i guess.
or we could wait until we have something truly useful to after, at least with RoR you could say that despite not being the ideal fit position wise he had lots of game and defensive wizardry to go along with it.
I never said to move Turris to the wing if we get Brassard. Why move Turris when Brassard is actually used there a decent amount already? Turris should be a shooting centre. If not Zibanejad definitely is. Brassard is a physical, defensively responsible playmaker -- would fit nicely with either.

Brassard is more proven than Turris and ROR for what it's worth. With that said he's also played his entire career in the sinkhole that is Columbus. Look at what people were saying about Nash and Methot before they got out of there (they've both excelled since leaving).

They're good players, no hate.
I'd take either of them in a heartbeat.

Phaneuf maybe

Kessel no: he isn't a 200 feet player and that seems to be a requirement for MacLean

It is for Carlyle as well but he had no say in Kessel being on the team so....

Brassard could work but what if we could land Ryan Johansen would be a solid investment right now stocks low..With Artem Anisimov, Derick Brassard, and Brandon Dubinsky all playing C..

Are depth at C is horrible.Spezza isnt getting younger

Ryan Johansen for Ben Bishop + 1st 2013

Too much or not enough

Kessel is so underrated. Put him with Spezza and he is easily a 40 goal scorer. Look at the goals he gets with no one to give him the puck. He's the kind of winger we've needed for Spezza since Heatley left.
