what a clownshow in Calgary these days...Feaster almost screws up the Flames so badly, they have no shot in the future

than comes out and instead of admitting a mistake, claims his interpretation of the rule was correct

let's hope they keep this clown in Cowtown a looooong time!

I hope all the Flames fans who flamed that Sportsnet writer for breaking this story apologize to him.

Hahaha good luck with that.

Man, I am really hoping Sherman does this. It would set the Flames back a long ways. And Colorado is out of our division soon so I don't care if they get a top pick.

NHL is having a disciplinary hearing tomorrow with DAL's Jamie Benn for his crosschecking major last night vs. EDM.

Sign RoR and be done with it.
The player cannot be traded after he signs an offer sheet.

Columbus and Colorado would have to make a separate trade, not involving O'Reilly, then the Avs could place O'Reilly on waivers for CBJ.

Option 3 is what is most likely.

Hopefully it's more than a fine but at least he has a hearing.

Why it's taking that long is my question. Shanny apart of the crew trying to figure out what waivers are with regards to RoR?

I don't expect anything more than a fine. But it's something. Doan didn't even get that.

My buddy in Calgary is texting me that all kinds of callers and emails to Fan960 are claiming that Feaster offer sheeted ROR to throw the Colorado management a bone because they weren't talking to the player anymore.

LOLWUT?!

Wow. Flame fans must be dumber than I thought, if they think people will risk a 1st round pick to HELP a division rival.

Lol! Good guy Feaster. Signing players for other teams now. I almost feel bad for Flames fans.

No actually that isn't true at all.

Why would Feaster do that? Especially when his team is the weakest in the league down the middle.

Like I said in the other thread this would be deemed collusion and would have harsh penalties.

Been listening to Fan960 most of the afternoon. I listen to the station quite a bit, and the callers and on-air personalities are, for the most part, sycophants and lemmings.

Having said this, they are carving Feaster pretty good today.

He will get fired over this, IMO.

The word "A" is really key.

However, there is the argument that the conditions for avoiding waivers are only limited to the following:

1) A player must be on “a” Club's Reserve List and Restricted Free Agent List, and;

2) He must sign a contract mid-season.

In other words, the language doesn't not expressly provide that a player may only avoid waivers if he re-signs with the team that holds his rights (in this case the Avs). Instead, it states that so long as the player is on “a” Club's Reserve and Restricted Free Agent list, he will not be subject to waivers before playing, regardless of where he signs.

Sadly, they've submitted the paperwork.

mc79hockey @mc79hockey
If I was a Real Media Guy (and lots of em follow me), I would just email ROR's agent and ask if the formal notice has been received.

Bob McKenzie ✔ @TSNBobMcKenzie
@mc79hockey One would only need to do that if one reported COL didn't make it official, but they did. I believe at 9:48 p.m. ET last night.

Darn. There goes that fantasy. Damn you Sherman! Why didn't you bend the Flames over a barrel when you had the chance!

It would have been the best thing that's happened in hockey since the Canucks were eliminated by the Kings.

Sean Bergenheim has won grievance arbitration with FLA. That means FLA must pay injured player his salary dating back to start of season.

Interesting I see he played two games in Europe, so were the Panthers trying to avoid paying him by saying he was hurt overseas? Either way here is a guy you have under contract for 2 more years, good luck.

Edit:

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Actually, FLA must pay Bergenheim's salary/medical expenses during lockout as it was determined his injury was suffered prior to lockout.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie
Bergenheim will miss rest of season, expected to have surgery for hip/lower abdominal issues. But will get full pay retroactive to lockout.

So next question is how does he go to Europe if he is hurt? I'd think as soon as you play there that it should nullify any sort of pre-existing injury.
