Disagree with Rodman's sentiments. The North Korean leaders are far from awesome.

Actually, this isn't the weirdest thing that Dennis Rodman has done.

Probably his brother, David Rodman

But who know what Kim is like. He could be a great guy in his personal life. You mustn't equal his political image with his real personality.

I'll bet Stalin was cracking knock-knock jokes with the prisoners before he sent them off to the gulags. Context, people. Context.

Rodman's visit to North Korea began Monday and took place amid tension between Washington and Pyongyang. North Korea conducted an underground nuclear test just two weeks ago, making clear the provocative act was a warning to the United States to drop what it considers a "hostile" policy toward the North.

Outrage -- from the country that conducted above ground nuclear tests on a quarter million Japanese less than a few hundred miles from Pyongyang.

On the subject of meetings that historically matter, where did I leave my Rumsfeld/Hussein handshake photo?

You mean like Bush did, before he sent prisoners to Guantanamo Bay?

You really must start thinking for yourself and not let the media do it for you. As strange it may seem to you, everyone has a good and a bad side to them. Perhaps seeing a former superstar from his favourite team, brought out the good side of Kim.

Do we have any proof of a good side of Kim?

Does thinking for yourself include applying general traits to specific people?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Rodman did and said all this for the money. Yes, I know, call me crazy...

I was referring to the outrage over nuclear tests. You know, how every couple of months CNN and FOX project ominous images of dark N. Korean rockets being launched into the sky to whip the population up into a panicky frenzy over a non-existent threat, i.e., the N. Korean nuclear program.

And I think I expressed how meaningless the Rodman meeting was in the very next sentence.

Perhaps the word of people, who knew him from school?

Quote:
"He was a big fan of the Chicago Bulls ... His life was basketball at this time," Micaelo said. "I think 80 percent of our time we were playing basketball."

"Pak Un attended a class for non-German speaking pupils but then quickly moved over to another class. He was described as well-integrated, diligent and ambitious. His hobby was basketball," Studer said.

The Korean youth was very intelligent and a good student, Micaelo said. "He was a good friend. He was very quiet. He was a nice guy."
Sorry, but I don't believe in absolutely evil or good people. Just because the media is talking about the evil North Korea, doesn't mean it is true.
Sure the "awesome guy" was probably said because of the money thrown at Rodman. But it doesn't mean that it isn't partly true.

If you don't know the difference between good and bad dictatorships, well, then, you just ain't familiar with the essence of U.S. foreign policy since the Monroe Doctrine.

The Kims are living the world's dream. Who wishes their grandpa got to run an entire nation as his own toy and give them eternal riches and employment? I do and I bet you most of you do too.

Are you trying to equate Bush II with the Kims? Really?

Right?

Bush actually invaded and bombed the **** out of countries rather than resort to empty rhetoric.

edit: damn, missed the plural "Kims"...

I wonder how China feels about this burgeoning US-NK relationship. Obviously they're baby steps but China seems to have less and less control and the Americans seem to be slowly inching closer to a 'friendship'. It's Rodman obviously but like I said - baby steps.
