Someone mentioned the hooded character in the trailer
Spoil:
getting flayed
which wasn't apparent in the trailer unless you read the book. It's not big, but still.

After reading that post (and knowing what he was referring to), I wondered how he didn't post that about most chapters of TGS & ToM.... maybe he did, I guess.

I certainly mentioned that the character in question is in the trailer (not a spoiler) if you look closely, but most certainly didn't mention anything else that is being questioned.

They're not going to split A Feast for Crows into two seasons are they? There's just not enough content in my opinion.

And yes, those are great names for the episodes. Do not google them if you haven't read the books though.

What they'll probably do is combine AFFC and ADWD. Certain main characters don't have a viewpoint in AFFC and it works for other characters in ADWD. They can probably get 3 season out of those 2 books.

Yeah, I assume they'll combine AFFC and ADWD into a linear timeline and break it in half for two seasons since those two books happen over the same time period.

HBO guys said from here on out, they're going to take A Song of Ice and Fire and simply make 10 episode segments, ending wherever it works best. So don't bother with what book/half of a book each season will be. It'll end up being off track sooner or later.

Yeah, glad they're going that route. Now George RR Martin has to get off his lazy ass and write up, otherwise HBO/Benioff is going to end up finishing the story for him :p

WITHOUT FOSTERING BOOK DISCUSSION: non-book readers, who/what are you rooting for in the new season?

George RR Martin has told them the direction / rough ending of the series. I keep trying to look at changes or deviations from the books to get a read on how its gonna end, still have no clue

They have already said that Seasons 4 and 5 will contain parts of ASoS, AFfC and ADwD and that 5 and 6 will contain parts of AFfC and ADwD.

They said they aren't adapting book to season any more, but A Song of Ice of Fire into a Television show basically.

So I had never seent his show before until a wek ago. My fiance and I have done nothing this past week (luckily we had two big snowstorms that pretty much shut the city down in that span) except watch this show...which I have so far deemed the greatest thing ever created by man.

When we got to episode 10 of season 2, we were literally in tears watching the time run down knowng that we'd have to wait a month to see the next episode and that from here on out, we are on a 1 episode per week regiment.

All the other shows and movies we like absolutely suck now and are totally boring...Game of Thrones has ruined TV for me. Any show that lacks 200 characters, a dozen gorgeous set locations with production values that make blockbuster movies blush, political intrigue, backstabbing, zombies, dragons, witches, sword fights, knights, beheadings, melted heads and more graphic sex than many porn movies...well, any show that lacks that stuff is frankly not worth my time anymore.

You may have already watched it, but many of my friends that enjoy Game of Thrones have really enjoyed Battlestar Galactica when I pointed them towards that series. Sci-fi vs. fantasy, but the same epic level of character driven plots that enthrall viewers.

Not a big sci-fi guy to be honest. Have heard of BG beore though and know its ans really, really enjoy it.

It also doesn't help that my two other favorite shows are still on hiatus right now (Breaking Bad and Mad Men). And the Walking Dead has gone downhill for me.

Spartacus is on Starz right? That could fit the bill. Have wondered if Rome on HBO is worth getting into because I have HBO. I heard in many ways (level of production, etc...) it was the spritural predecessor to Game of Thrones but ended for financial reasons because it was so expensive.

The Wire. It doesn't have dragons because it doesn't need any.

Comparing Game of Thrones to Spartacus is deeply, even irresponsibly misleading.

Game of Thrones is the best thing on TV and Spartacus...well Spartacus is a bunch of 300 style slow motion oiled up beefcakes making already painful dialogue even worse by inexplicably leaving words out of sentences every now and then.

Though from the latest episode I saw I suppose it's the only place in history depicting Julius Caesar as a musclebound blonde bearded kung fu master, so it has that going for it.

Yeah Rome is really similar to GoT.

The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, Boardwalk as mentioned are all great too.
