5 pts in 14 games. 3 of them in his first game. I thought he was going to soar this year after that first game. Ah well. Nothing but love for the guy.

While this might at first glance sound greedy, I can honestly say I wouldn't have done anything else either. The Panthers knew what they were getting in him; changing their minds shouldn't get them off the hook for the contract they gave him.

I thought that entire team was going to soar this year after that first game. Alas, that is not the case.

As for Kovalev, I'd hoped he'd have a decent swan song with the Panthers this year, but that was hoping for a lot. Can't be too shocked at this news. A shame, though.

If Tarantino made a movie about Lincoln, that wouldn't be the case.

And he would kill peope with his bare hands and put them in the back of a car.

In the 1860s.

He had some great seasons, but his level of not caring has increased since his time with the Habs.

Panthers got what we needed. Someone who could hold the fort on the 2nd line until a better option was found. Shore stepped up and kovalev became expendable. Thanks for that great opening game. Enjoy retirement.

Kovalev need to realize that he's done playing hockey at a high level. He couldn't cut it in the KHL and can't cut it in the NHL anymore.

If he still want to play he should go smowhere where competition is lesser and where he can still bring something to a team. Swiss or hell even the LNAH. Because otherwise he just need to retire.

With all the players going back to former teams maybe he is just being traded to Montreal, NYR, or Pittsburgh,

Are you serious? The guy played over 1300 games and had over a 1000 points in the NHL. It's a hell of a career.

I wouldn't, I don't think he would fit in this team at all.

I'm honestly surprised an NHL team even offered him a contract.

Well, he did sign a contract, the amount of money he has is irrelevant. It's not like his 48 game contract is massive albatross.

I loved all the people who thought he was such a great addition after he played two games this season.
