Both games were extremely intense. I was at the one in Winnipeg when the Wild were in town. Close game right until the end.

The game in St Paul was a blast to watch on tv. Just a shame it had to end in a crappy shootout

I'm a little confused...according to Russo, since realignment is not a collective bargaining issue, it doesn't really matter what the NHLPA thinks as they have no vote. They are only be asked for their opinion as "courtesy"..

But other media outlets are saying that the PA DOES have a vote and a say....

Which is it? Can the Board of Governors pass realignment without the consent of the NHLPA or not?

I'm well aware of the fact that the PA voted the previous plan down back in 2011, has something changed in the new CBA that changes things?

No, they never really had a say, but with the cba expiration it was being looked at as a bargaining chip.

I think the cba has just used the word "consult" in terms of the league needing nhlpa input. They don't need nhlpa approval.

The nhlpa voting the last one down didn't stop it in and of itself, it was a ceremonial shot across the bow about the forthcoming cba negotiation. The nhl had bigger things to worry about.

so wait, if i am reading this correct, they are going to realign for next year, but then look at it again and it could potentially change after 2015? whats the point of that then???

I am pumped as all get up for the new division and what have you, but would be beyond pissed if we only have it for 2 years and then they say "ya know..........we dun goofed."
