So, I was surprised to see the Devils re-signed Harry Young to another deal per capgeek. Any ideas why? (His numbers seem to have regressed in the ECHL this year?)

There is a possibilty that we lose four defenseman to free agency, both NHL and AHL. (Marek Zidlicky, NHL)(Peter Harrold, NHL)(Jay Leach, AHL)(Matt Corrente, AHL). That would make this a cautionary move by Lou to avoid any mid season signings that might be caused by injury.

Has Stefan Stepanov played at all? If he has, how has he looked? (for anyone who's seen Albany play)

He's still on the Albany roster, just no games played.

Since we have all these healthy scratch D men in Albany, and others like Merrill possibly turning pro next year can we please let Corrente walk now?

There could be visa issues, has anybody even confirmed that he's here yet?

Yes he is here. He was at the autograph session after last Sunday's game.

So are both Vundertvins hurt now? Neither Yayo or Teddy played tonight.

I'm not sure about Josefson. I can't see him being a healthy scratch, but I haven't heard anything about an injury. Maybe just a little sore and resting?

I think you will get your wish. Merrill probably won't stay at Michigan another year, not with all the bad luck he's had there, and the resulting stalling of his development.

Corrente is almost certainly gone at the end of the season. He can't stay healthy, and now there are too many players ahead of him on the defensive depth chart. His window of opportunity has come and gone, unfortunately.

Tedenby finally released from the hospital, 9 days later...must have been a brutal cut.

Looks like it was because of the callup.

Yeah if he had been a scratch, he would have at least been on the roster.

I can report that after a very poor January posting below .900 save percentages Wedgewood is having a much better Feb with a .918 SV% so far. Also had his first shutout of the season a couple of days ago.

Real good to hear. I know stats at this level don't mean everything, but nothing bad can be said about a goalie stopping a lot of pucks.

Albany has three games this weekend so Wedgewood may get a start with Kinkaid up.

I can't imagine Albany would play Frazee three nights in a row.

Wedgewood will most definitely get a start. I'd be shocked if he didn't.

Just thinking and this is for anyone who watches the A devs somewhat consistently. Can urbom realistically be ready to step into the top 6 on the big.club.next year?

He probably could, but both Tallinder and Zidlicky would have to gone next year. Unless you expect him to be 7th defenseman. He's fairly expendable to me. He's good, but I wouldn't mind packaging him. There's too many prospect defensemen, and not all of them will get a chance to play. Hopefully we can keep some of the vets like Greene, and Fayne over the years too.
