Habeneros, are you Kovalev?

Dude, we know that you're a healthy scratch in Florida right now. George freakin Parros is playing over you.

do you remember when Kovelev was a OTTAWA Sens ?

he came right out and basically said he wished he was a Habs ,....would like to go back to Montreal....

Figure it out man....

21,273 chanting his name ,Habs pa announcer Aleaks KOOOalVEELEEVVVV(fans go insane)

never happened in Ottawa which is no comparison in atmosphere, and in Flordia is like a library to the Bell Centre in comparison....

He feed off the Montreal crowd....he said point blank he wants to retire with Montreal ,a Hab.....He left his heart here.

I dont care about benching .....he don't like Fla....

28 games....500,000.no risk.

he puts a show on for 28 games on powerplay etc, retires in Montreal...

I like Kovalev. A depth player down the stretch? So long as he knows his place. He can wear 72. Galchenyuk under no circumstance should give up his number.

I'm surprised this wasn't posted yet

Kovalev isn't like Selanne and the few who pushed it to 40+, he's done.

Again ,.not Kovy at 20 mins a night.....or top lines....ok?
He's a liability on the ice and hardly produces on the power play. He's done.

We can't just bring in someone to only play the powerplay. That's NHL 13 stuff. You need to take a regular shift to be useful in the NHL, and as we have seen for the last several years Kovalev is a liability on the ice, rather than an asset.

How many points does he have on the powerplay in the last 3 years anyways? 10? 15?

Our powerplay is 11th in the league, why would we waste a roster spot trying to fix a problem we don't really have?

Galchenyuk is due for more ice time, especially on the powerplay, and he's everything Kovalev ever was, and more. We should invest in his ice time rather than a 40 year old floater.

His surgery aside, you don't want a guy that is notorious for being a slack in the locker room, especially since the team has a new identity, that revolves around working hard.

For the millionth time, this ship has sailed....many moons ago.

So would it be Bergvin that would have to take him for a walk in the park?

3 Reasons why this post should just stop.

1. We play a high tempo game, Kovalev couldn't keep up.
2. There is nobody on this team he could replace, not top 6 or top 9
3. Do you really want a guy with a very suspect work ethic anywhere this team whose motto is "no excuses"

He was great skill player who never lived up to his full potential, now his skill are dismissing so why do you want him around; he has no other skills sets!

Enjoy retirement Kovy....

Nay, 1000 times nay. Kovalev is obviously done. And we don't have roster space anyway. Would take him on my ball hockey team for $5, though... he always seemed like a cool guy.

Holy crap. Another player that has been ridiculously overhyped by the fanbase. I can't believe people would march in the street for Kovalev but not Koivu. What a bunch of idiots.

I guess my answer is no, no, no.

NewHabsEra,you might think im crazy but ,no question in my mind he puts up points in last 28 games here....he still had 5 pts in 14 games in Fla playing 12 min a night,...(2 pp points) 1 game winner

He left his heart in Montreal....Ott/ Fla just burned him up to play there ....

Read this from 2009 ,as a member of the Ottawa Sens at the time.

Go back in time....we weren't that great of a team. But Kovalev was providing some excitement to it. People had only that to care for...a guy that had the ability to be spectacular.

The day we become a legitimate contender for years to come...we wouldn't care for the flashier player...

Kovy still thinks he should be playing on the 1st two lines, and he will be unhappy with anything else, and will just poison the room, i think in part this is why Cole was traded along with his contract. so why would we want more poison in the room, he would not accept playing on the 4th line or sitting out games,

For anyone who thinks this won't happen..

Did you expect Bouillon to ever be back

How about ryder

Do you expect kovalev to be back?

YOU NEVER KNOW.

I say take the man let him retire in montreal. He will score clutch goals. I loved the guy.

Then he should buy season tickets, wear his old Habs jersey, and retire to his seat with the rest of the Bell Centre crowd...only way he ever wears the bleu, blanc, et rouge again.

Some things never cease to amaze me around here
Least of which is the love for retreads.

How people want certain players that are way passed their prime to come in and fill a role that they can no longer hope to fill OR no longer have the tools to fill is beyond me.

for every retread that manages to make a mark there's 4-5 that don't.
On top of that we aint broke at the moment so there's no need to fix anything.
I want this team to move forward not backward

there are many here said ,Souray was done\Jagr was done\forget Boullion\'Therrien as habs coach part 2? your nutts...

no one ever thought Breezer would come back.......or Ryder or Stéphane Quintal etc......

Many here supported Pierre Gauthier as GM from day 1....lol(not me)

KOVY for 28 games retire Habs, not nutts as you think.

My bet Kovy 15-18 pts in 28 games

You're right you're right. I'm sorry. I want the same thing.

It's nostalgia. It gets the better of us hab fans.

Alot of the younger hab fans have Kovalev as a very nostalgic player in there minds. Including me. When I first started to get really into habs (after years of it being drilled into my brain from birth by die-hard habs parents) I remeber kovalev had his helmet knocked off by a dirty check, he then got angry, streaked down the, kovy hair following and scored. Great memory, thanks for the memories kovy.

P.S. once he got his hair cut that was the end of him lol.

Disagree. Let's get him back to force Gally to take 94. Then he can help eliminate the Bruins and retire.

I wouldn't mind if they gave him a 10 game tryout if an injury came up etc.
