I don't think that package could get him straight up let alone at a cap discount and if the Avs were ok with keeping half of the cap hit they could easily get a better package than an upcoming UFA, late first, and a B level prospect.

I think many overvalue some players and underrate others in a trade market.

For a half priced Stastny, we should be happy if they took 1st + McNeill + Olsen + another mid level guy like Calnan or Fournier.

I would like to see some of our (call them second tier) prospects moved. They have value; Jayes and Smith could play in the NHL right now for a lot of teams. If we can't swing a package to bring in a roster player, then maybe swap them to an org heavy on defense prospects (e.g. Pens), to balance out what we have coming up.

Agreed. At the least, we could stand to move some forward prospects for a quality D and/or G prospect.

As a Stalberg supporter, I would package him and anyone but TT. Toews, Stastny, Boland, Kruger down the middle. Slide Shaw into Viktor's spot. That lineup is WAY better than current.

I think Stalberg is expendable in the right deal only if it improves the team and only because he is a UFA at the end of the year.

We still can't afford another big contract next year while rolling 4 dependable lines. They'd have to eat half his cap for us, which they wouldn't do.

According to @DNFlyers, the #Blackhawks put in a waivers claim for Tom Sestito but Canucks got him.
I love it. I don't love the fact that they put in a claim for Sestito, but I love the fact that Bowman is still looking to make improvements and get even more of an edge even though they are 17-0-3.

Fine, send Bolland with V.S.

Saad Toews Hossa

Sharp Stastny Kane

Bick Shaw and Carcillo

Mayers Kruger Frolik

Still better now, and going forward.

Agreed about Bolland, even though I love him, disagree with both him and Stalberg, it's one or the other. Stalberg would most likely be gone after the season but we need him for the Cup run.

Bolland and Morin for Stastny, that's as high as I would go.

Right, let's trade Bolland and Stalberg for a guy who barely get's more points than them, and is far worse defensively than Bolland....because THAT makes sense.

I would love to get Statsny, but Colorado might be in the same conference/division. I don't think either gm does it.

I'm all for throwing Bolland and Stalberg to land him. I would expand the package even, but I doubt it would be possible to happen.

I'll take the bigger, more durable Stastny. On the Kane line he'd put up 75 points and Shaw would mitigate most of Stalberg's points. Bolland better D is offset by Stastny being better at the dot.

Stastny is a very good 2 way C

He isn't all that off from Bolland if at all defensively

He also carries a 6mil price tag for a guy not much better than Bolland.

Put Stastny with Sharp/Hossa as his wingers

His playmaking skills would fit well with both

Stalberg will be making Bolland dollars sooner than later.

Not quite, but I would rather have those 2 for the same price as Stastny. There are better 2nd line C than Stastny we could get, that are cheaper.

I can't believe how eager people are to trade Bolland, but please do, and when Stastny or whoever we get for Bolland is getting blown away in the play-offs by whomever we play because we don't have that shutdown C to gain a minimal offensive jump it will work out amazingly, like it has the last 2 years.
