Heck of a setup by Nyquist to Skinner. Trails the game 1-2 though.

Good 2nd, turned the game around and lead 4-2 a lot thanks to the PP.

Kept pouring in the 3rd to win 7-3. Billins hatty, not the normal defenseman hatty as he scored every goal in close range, but great nontheless! Nyquist up to AHL scoring race lead, had consecutive 3pt nights and 7pts for the weekend.

Happy for Gus and happy for Billins! Lots of people told us Lashoff had NO CHANCE of being an NHL'er. I still think Billins might have a shot as a Brian Rafalsksi like puck mover. Keep it up Chad.

Griffins explode and win 7-3

Billins with a hatty, Nyquist, Sheahan and Glendening with 2 A's. Mrazek 20/23.

Nyquist now leads the AHL in points.

Boxscore for all the other players.

Half eye on the game from 2nd period on as the Wings are playing.. Can't say I noticed Mursak much other than taking a penalty to put the team 3on4. And he went scoreless despite scoring seven so I guess that confirms it.

Nicastro didn't stand out, but I guess that could be seen as something good for him.

Skinner continues to stand out for the good, he looks like a legit 1st pairing AHL D and has helped them much.

Going to Peoria to watch them play the Rivermen this Saturday with a big group of people from work. Me and a friend will be rockin' my two Wings jerseys (one unnamed, one Yzerman).

Anyone else planning to be there? (if so msg. me, but I HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt it).

A few more years in the AHL and he might be ready to crack the 4th line if Cleary isnt playing anymore.

Noticed Nestrasil has 9 shots his last two games. How has he looked?
He was over a PPG in Toledo, a huge improvement over his rookie year

Griffs chased Hellberg from the net in the second.

Mursak scored a sick end to end goal, Nyquist had a nice goal and has an assist. Sheahan also picked up an assist on the Nyquist goal. Glendening had a pretty good scrap which he won against Piskula whose about 6'3 and has some experience fighting.

Glendening might not be a bad fourth line center in the NHL actually, I think he could have as hot with Detroit. Defensively hes pretty damn good, hes not big but hes stocky and can throw around his weight pretty well. Not a fighter exactly but will step in and fight and can handle himself pretty well and hes a really good PKer. Emmerton has grown on me this year but Glendening might be the better option there. Offensively he looks as good or better then Emmerton ever did in GR and he has all the attributes a defensive fourth line center should have (and Emmerton lacks a lot of)

So Nyquist has 3 goals and 6 assist in the past 4 games. And there is still a period left to go tonight. I'm glad Tatars getting some solid NHL time but it would be nice to see Goose.

Jeezus 9 points in the last 3 games, obviously Dan freaking Cleary deserves to be playing along side Dats instead of this guy .

Mursak ---
Would rather him be on Datsyuk's wing than Cleary or Abdelkader

Soft, undersized forward, doesn't back check... Easy to knock off the puck as well. Not really physical, nor can he produce offense at the NHL level.

But Cleary plays "realgood" and plays "heavy"

Granted, I didn't get to see him in practice and other workouts like the coaches did, but it always seemed to me like he didn't really get a fair chance to prove himself, always recovering from one injury or another.

Meanwhile Cleary stays in the lineup despite a back injury that was obviously holding him back, gets a roster spot despite not producing last year, and gets put on Datsyuk's wing as soon as there's a top six position open.

I wonder what the deal is with AA, hardly a healthy scratch. The Griffins web site write these essays every week, would it kill them to mention injuries once in a while?
