When Jenkins was drafted everyone said he was going to be a project. Give him some time.

I thought Jenkins was an awful pick when they took him. I knew they needed a receiver, but there were other receivers that I liked better than him.

The 49ers didn't need a "project", they needed a WR that would help them and be an impact in 2012. If they wanted to pick a project then they should have taken Stephen Hill who is 1.5 years younger and even then Hill contributed more to his team last season. I still have hope for Jenkins.

Can we get off this stupid Jenkins debate? It's retarded.

Came across this on ******. Color photo of Mays' catch. Pretty gnarly.

If that sign of 483 is correct, that ball was hit at least 450 feet.

What a catch.

ah the polo grounds: 258 ft to left field poll, 279 ft to right field poll, 483 to center.

Project or not, a first round WR pick should see the field when 2 guys ahead of him on the depth chart are lost for the year...to make it worse he's surpassed by a undrafted practice squad player (Chad Hall).

Huge offseason for Jenkins as a big opportunity awaits if he works hard and steps up. The waiver wire awaits if he doesn't capitalize on the opportunity.

Im hopping in this thing real late so im sorry, but having two TEs that play like WRs means jack. If you are a good player at all, on a team with CRAP at the WR position and do not even sniff the starting roster the entire year, that is horrible.

Maybe he will get better but come on, blaming the fact that they have pass catching TEs is a horrible defense for the kid.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
As @RavensInsider insider reported, WR Anquan Boldin traded to 49ers for a sixth-round pick. WRs piling up in NFC West.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter
Anquan Boldin needs to pass physical before trade with 49ers becomes complete; he's in Africa on mission. Physical, trade completion await.

Question #1 on the physical: Have you recently lived in or visited Africa?

49ers have to pay him. This is the Ravens getting anything they can for him; he is not signed.

Do the 49ers even have any cap space?

Yes he is. $6 million next season. He refused to take a pay cut for next season so they traded him.

Hah, beat me to it. Thanks, Sacto. Flacco better perform well next season, because he's being blamed (unfairly) by many Ravens fans for this one. The comments section on ESPN is hilarious right now.

I stand corrected. Heard it wrong when they were talking about his salary I guess.

Question still stands though. Do they have room to take on his 7.5mil cap hit with other players they need to sign? I'm assuming they know what they are doing, but what does that mean for other players.

I wonder if Reed will follow.

Great fit for the 49ers, and a nice response to the Harvin signing. The Wilson vs Kaep debates (I guess you can throw Bradford in too) will be great for years. Good young QBs all over that division.

I don't even know what the Raiders are up to right now

Probably will battle it out for the 3rd wideout spot with Williams till Manningham comes back. Good trade by Balke, he gets a good wideout for a 6th.

If Jenkins is good enough, he would be able to see time ahead of a recovering Manningham and an average Williams. We'll see if some of that potential finally turns into production, even in practice.

Guess the looming issue is whether Boldin agrees to the trade. He's been on record stating he would retire if he was traded, but I'm assuming that was for leverage and insurance against being traded to a mediocre team.

I have to think going to a contender AND still getting paid will make him reconsider that statement.
