I honestly believe if Maxim Lapierre doesnt resign in Vancouver the Habs will bring him back as an UFA this summer. He's Bergervin's type of player

If it's true, Perry will be trade at the deadline. And the team that will trade for him would want to know if they have a legitimate chance of signing him to a long term contract. I think it will be over before July.

Hell no.

If MB thinks Cole is too "high maintenance" then Lapierre has no chance of coming back with MB here. He's a guy that always needed a kick in the pants to get going every 2-3 weeks and was never happy with his role.

If Perry won't re-sign in Anaheim, on a team that looks so strong this season, that seems to be a pretty clear sign he's likely testing the market regardless of where he's traded to, IMO.

Corey Perry would fit Therrien's team like a custom drysuit,I can't even begin to imagine a line with Galchenyuk-Perry-Pacioretty playing any other line. They would be the best 200 foot line ever IMHO,extremely hard to play against.Perry is definitely the UFA that Bergevin will covet this year. The name of this line is the PPG or Pts.Per Game Line.

He won't be traded, Anaheim wants the Cup.

Corey Perry. Possible next season?

What do you think? With Gomez, and probably Kaberle buyout, and considering we dont resign Ryder, do you think we have cap space to get Perry?

We have to consider we will need to resign a few players in 14-15( Markov, Subban,Emelin, Diaz.

Do you think its possible at all that if Perry is FA, Bergevin might want to try to sign him?

We have the space, no issues there. The question is will he come? I guess he would like to join a contender. Can we make enough of an impression this year to be identified as a contender?

Why do we ''need'' to re-sign Markov? And how do we know Ryder won't be retained? A lot of things can happen between now and july 1st.

I would love to have Perry though.

If we've got the cap space, I'd like to see Bergevin try to land him in the summer, maybe 5-6 years/$7.5m per season?

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Perry

Looks good to me

We have the cap space. He'd fit well in our system.

So.. yhea. It's possible if he's still available at the 1st of July. Or maybe MB could buy the negotiation rights before then.

At this point it's putting the cart ahead of the horse.

1-he may be re-signed with the Mighty Ducks or traded and then sign there or have a trade and sign in late June

2-his price tag may be too high for what MB wants to pay, pretty obvious he values cap management and won't sign a guy that will be off his "scale" rightly or wrongly. Perry will carry a very big cap hit without the ability to do a back diving Parise/Suter/Hossa/Richards/Kovalchuk type deal. His cap hit will be 8-9 mil over 7 years.

If MB wants to go after Perry, he should get rid of Gionta.

I doubt Perry signs for 8-9 mil, just doesn't make sense in the latest CBA to tie so much onto someone.

I'd only like to have him if we can dump Gionta somewhere as we'd have too many middle6 guys then.

Why would they be related? They can have both.

Parise basically signed for 10 years and 94 mil. Even with the new CBA I'm sure Perry could easily get 7 years and 56-60+ mil if he hits full UFA.

The cap is dropping but teams can buy out two bad contract to make up cap space. Toronto could dump Komisarek and Montreal with Gomez and Kaberle.

I know that. But I want him to tell me why he thinks so. Give him enough rope to hand himself.
