Dumont sent down (March 29. 2013)

From what I saw from Dumont at the Bulldogs game at the Bell Centre, he def has the potential to be a good 3rd liner in the NHL. Really tenacious on the forecheck with some good skills and seems like pain in the ass to play against.

Probably an injury.

Bourque is out indefinitely, but his spot is already filled.

Do people seriously not pay attention ?

If I had to guess, unless I missed someone having an injury...right now they don't have any spare forwards so with a back-to-back this weekend they want to have someone ready in case they need them.

they are going on a 5 game road trip & have 0 spare forwards.

no extra injuries, no trades, just precaution until Noke & Bourque can play.

For this weekend I would sit out Prust and let him heal. Put Moen on the 2nd line and Dumont in the line-up.
this is not true. Sestito isn't a good fighter and he will try to avoid heavyweight if he can. the guy will fight guys like Prust, Bickel, Moen etc but not the Orr and company

If this is true, why do you suppose MB put a claim in for him?

Because for some reason the Habs with a few exceptions seem to prefer their heavyweights to be guys who just show up, not guys who win most of their fights. Aka Downey, Dwyer, Blouin, Staubitz

We finally went out and got a top notch heavyweight in Laraque and he turned out to be a huge diva. That experience soured so many Habs fans on the option of having a heavyweight on the roster.

Carbo and Martin behind the bench wasn't good for him too. Probably any enforcers would have sucked with this 2 coachs

I hear he's a great hitter and can actually play hockey. It seems like Bergevin doesn't care much for the actual fighting but is looking for toughness.

Is there a reason I can't find Dumont on the Bulldogs site or the Habs site under prospects?

Dumont has been a healthy scratch since being called up. As many have mentioned, it was just for "insurance" purposes. Wanting a healthy spare forward with the team while they're on a 5-game road trip.

Once said he was going to be our faceoffs specialist and that we should start developing him as such. So far, so good on that aspect.

On another topic though, I watched his fights/scraps, and deep inside me, I just hope Marchand is going to pull up his act once again and challenge him because he looks smaller and weaker than him. I'm pretty sure Dumont could kick the hell out of him. He's really a surprising fighter for his size.

I like Dumont as a 4th line center. Can win draws, can skate, is responsible, is pestish, can play the PK....

He brings alot to that role if not size.

Follow up question: if you're looking for details (presumably stats, bio, history) about him, why aren't you looking somewhere like eliteprospects instead? I personally prefer having more information in front of me, and having the separate quick link arrows to the teams, the leagues, and playoffs as well. I haven't found any of the Habs'/Bulldogs' official sites particularly useful for anything in years.

I think the AHL's site is interesting in one aspect here.. I guessed I shouldn't have been surprised but the sheer length of the list of players who've worn a Bulldogs jersey this season is a bit shocking:
