What are the chances a see some more brutal reffing in this one? Would make it 3 games in a row
It's bad enough the team's playing like crap, the poor reffing is the icing on the cake. It's like the refs smell blood in the water. Unfortunately, since Gillis called them out after game 6 against the Blackhawks in '11 and Burrows called out Auger, I don't think it's going to change for a long time.
I've wanted a goon-capable player for years, but I think Gillis bungled the acquisition process. Will the team be upset that Gillis sent a guy to Washington for no reason? Or, will they rejoice in finally having some roster beef? Either way, there are less excuses to be made, now. The Canucks finally resemble a traditional NHL model, now can they play like one? Perhaps this is the player they've been waiting for? The Sedins might want him for Byfluglien duty in front of the net? The goalies might want him to clear the crease at the other end?
Raymond and Hansen are at or near their career production though it seems to me they were spending a lot of time in the offensive zone and generating above avg chances when they played together earlier in the year. So reuniting them makes sense.
not sure about Raymond at center though its not like AV has a choice. We only have 3 centers on the roster at the moment...
I'm really excited to see Sestito play. However, he has had his fair share of dirty hits. I just hope he stays disciplined for the most part and doesn't take really stupid penalties when big games are on the line. I'd rather have him on our team than on the Blackhawks.
Does anyone know how many concussions he's had? I'm a bit concerned about that with him. He has taken some pretty hard shots during fights as well as hitting his head on the ice after the Tootoo fight. He's still a pretty young guy.
