Edmonton and St.Louis are tied after 2. Come on Blues, don't let the Oil get any points out of this one!

The Jets goal 8 seconds in was a bigger fail on Zid. He was out to lunch on that one.

Good god what prompts someone to hit a guy like that? Plus who was that commentator? That's not a tough one...that's as clear cut as you can get for a suspension/targeting the head. Reckless and dangerous.

Gotta tell ya, From what I saw, I'd say nothing more than a charging penalty at best.
Lundin was headdown, and he got hit hard, but looked pretty damn legal to me.
If this same hit would have happened to a Wild player, I would say the same thing.

He left his feet and will get hammered for targeting / principle point of contact being the head.

I don't see it at all. He didn't leave his feet. Lundin was low. It was a solid hit. No suspension.

Z crouches some, then goes into an explosive upward motion just before contact, also making the main, and primary point of contact the head.
Yeah, that's a "good" hit? Whatever
This is a ****ing game. It's supposed to be competitive and rough, but you're not supposed to go out there and try and kill someone.
He deserves to be sat for a couple games.
I like rough play, even more than most, but hits like this should have no part in this game.

http://t.co/RJ9acAhlKU Watch it there he launches. Now, I think Lundin had his head down and you get what you get when you do that. However, the NHL doesn't and Harry Z is going to get suspended

The problem is with Lundin, he's crouched low, so where are you going to try and hit him? Z doesn't leave his feet until after the hit. Furthermore it looks like Z turned and Lundin got hit with Z's back. What is Z suppose to do in that situation? He's committed to the hit and can't abandon it without doing more serious damage (see the Hall hit). It's not even a shoulder check. It's a full bodied check. It's an unfortunate hit but so was the Coyle hit. And that principal point of contact was Stajan's head.

Looked like a target to the head to me.
Anytime your shoulder's lined up with someone's head, whether they are down or you "lead" with your elbow to their midsection or whatever, that's targeting the head. Eventually you hit the head.
He wasn't committed to anything. He's an NHL'er. He can avoid collision.
