Holy ****, its going to take every will in my body not to rage at how ridiculously idiotic this statement is. Yeah, he's had a horrible year. The dude was PPG on one of the best teams in the AHL, and is just growing into his body. He got top 6 minutes with the Jackets and he didn't make the most of it. Yeah, we're ruining him. Beginning of the year he looked like the best forward on the ice, and then he started slacking and got sent down and has looked better ever since.

Long story short.. He's not available.

Watching him at World Juniors Camp in Edmonton summer of '11 he was unbelievable. Far and away the best player in that camp and players like Nugent-Hopkins, Stone, Schwartz, Hamilton etc.. were playing as well. I hope he doesn't bust, he's got so much potential. His value is at an all time low forsure but the Jackets would be smart to just let him play with the big club and give him plenty of opportunities.

EDIT - And yea, the comments for people who say classic Columbus player busting or whatever are annoying. I'd be frustrated too, if I was a Jackets fan. Luckily with Davidson and your new GM you have a pretty damn good staff to get it turned around.

That was about my reaction too.

I seem to recall, before the price for Ryan Johansen, there was a catchphrase I found myself using along the lines of "feel free to hop on our bandwagon, but stop trying to steal our players." Maybe it's time to unretire that one.

Adding to this as an Oiler fan . I would love to have him . But CBJ are better holding on to him . All prospects do not develop at the same rate . Case and point Sam Gagner . Everyone from other teams has been call him a bust . I always said his father never broke out unit 24 . Sam is 23 and seen to be stepping it up . For those who say it a small number of games remember Sam has always been a slow starter . Hang on to him . If you decide to move him we would love him on the Oil

I'd like Reinhart but him alone wouldn't do it. It would have to be ++. RyJo isn't movin barring overpayment and can't see Isles moving Reinhart either.

Soooo..... Johansen for Filatov? But only if Columbus includes TJ Tynan.

While the organization was heading nowhere, it is unfair and way too soon to say that it's still the case under this new management.

In my opinion, they will be building around Ryan, not without him. I'd take him in Montreal any day and I know that the Habs were hot on him the year before his draft eligibility season.

I don't think his value is low right now at all. I think most NHL GMs have more patience than to judge a 20 year old player on a terrible team. I think most teams will see the player that was drafted 4th overall just two years ago, look at his production in the AHL, and value him accordingly.

It amazes me that people get so down on a 19-20 year old that struggles in the NHL, yet players 21-22 that haven't played a game in the NHL are considered top prospects.

Heard the same thing about Nash last year and then he went for a pile of scraps lmao

First off, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon, and a 1st aren't scraps.

Second, Nash had demanded a trade. Johansen hasn't.

Third, Nash had a NMC and could decide where he would be moved. Johansen doesn't.

Fourth, Nash's contract was seen as prohibitive. Teams had to be careful that they sent back offsetting salary. Johansen is on an ELC.

lmao

Nash was a $7.8m player with a NTC , who'd demanded a trade.

That limited the number of teams who could acquire him.

I really like John Moore but might consider it, if Isles would entertain the idea.

I've no idea how the NYI scouts would rank Moore in relation to Reinhart, De Haan. Whether they'd view him as a better bet, to develop into a top pairing partner for Hamonic.

I can't see the isles flipping Nino for a potential 2nd pairing d-man. The isles have several prospects with 2nd pairing potential. It's a 1st pairing partner the need.

Nooope. All Edmonton fans should be familiar with the price for Johansen. Still hasn't changed.

Ennh. I think Moore is a much better fit for the blueline it looks like we're going to be going with and so really hesitate to move him. I'd really much rather move Savard if we're going to move anyone.

My thinking -- I don't want to trade Moore. I see him as Murray's future partner on the top pairing (just me, I know). I don't want to trade him. But Erixon and now even Goloubef are showing real signs of turning ino top-4 defensemen (way too early, I know). I do not see Savard as a top-pair guy, which was the criteria in the post I was replying to.

So all that, I might be willing to move Moore for a player with Nino's hoped-for upside.
