If we are out coached we better find a new coach. The question is would Mike Gillis even know how?

This team continues to show a pathetic effort.

If the effort isn't there tonight I don't know how MG lets this continue.
Hopefully the team will render this a moot point.

Saw this on the Main Board, and it made me giggle, even though I dislike both players:

Also - there's a chance Bieksa returns tonight.

Because of this one regular season game? how is getting out coached event quantifiable from a one off game?

I think a better question is how does a message board fan boy know more about the game and whether or not his coach is actually being out-coached than people involved in the NHL?

Yeah, one game. It is quite clear that AV hasn't been doing his job properly for a very long time.

Hopefully Sestito will give this team some tiny kinda of shakeup to get them going.

HF logic...
Win games, just looking at the win lose record dose not show how the team has played, even if it is better then everyone else in the last two years.

Lose games, Proof AV sucks.

The conversation I quoted was in the context of this game, So yes, he was talking about one game. If he was talking about all the game before, then what dose this game matter???

No, you're assuming that poster was only talking about this one game. We've been playing like garbage lately. No where in that post did that poster say that it only had to do with one game. That would just be silly. Do you think that person is that silly? No, they're not. It makes much more sense to interpret that post based on how the Canucks have been playing lately. Hell, since january of last season. They are just saying this game is the last straw if we play like garbage again. If there's one game that this team better show up for, it's against the team that knocked them out of the first round last season. If they can't put up a good effort I will be very disappointed in this team.

I feel like Colonel O'Neill here saying "I got a bad feeling about this", but I do. This game is going to be ugly for VAN. The team is totally out of sorts, and playing nowhere near LA's level. I'm to try and keep that in mind for tonight.

And you assume he is talking about more, still an assumption.

The post in this a GDT says "If we are out coached we better find a new coach."
At what point dose he refer to the past, even though its may be true, no tone in that statement is past tense. Also he dose not give any indication that he is talking about the future, so one may be considered silly to assume more then was posted.

I may not be able to answer this...

And all you are doing is adding your own logic to something that is not said, you sir are basing this on assumptions

Only Vancouver fans would think that a team who's currently on top of their division, won back-to-back President's Trophies, and been to the Stanley Cup Finals as recently as two seasons ago has a coach that "isn't doing his job properly".

People may not like some of the decisions that the coaches make, and that's fine, but the only possibility that AV and his crew are fired is if we miss the playoffs this year (or perhaps if we exit in the first round again). The overall results for the team heavily stack in favour of AV, so people are just going to have to deal with him being here.

Sometimes a coach is around too long. Maybe because the players have heard enough and start to tune him out or maybe it's because other teams have learned and adapted to his system. We have seen many quality coaches who were fired. Doesn't mean they all of a sudden become incompetent or forgot how to coach.

Just because a team is winning doesn't matter either. NJ fired Julien in 2007 when the season was almost over because of reported issues the players had with him. The NJD were 1st in their Division and 2nd overall in the conference. Yes this isn't the norm but it is factual proof that no coach is safe even when winning. We all know where Julien ended up and what he did!

I am not saying AV has to go or stay. Just saying that no coach is safe even when winning. This isn't a game, it's a business and the owner/operator does what he feels is best for the company.

Don't have a good feeling about this one, especially with LA winning 5 straight.

4-1 Kings.

Some combination of natural positions and practice lines. I figured Schroeder would stay on the 3rd in spite of his practice position.
