When has Murray ever went out and got that big name player in a trade?...We need a Perry here..

Zibby
Cowen

For

Perry

Then you trade a goalie + for a top 4 d-man

But Anaheim needs and wants a signed Perry... The only reason for them to trade him is if they cant sign him.

Right now screw a two way player. Right now this team needs a offensive guy that doesnt worry as much about defense because right now we could use an offensive game changer.

What about Gaborik? The Rangers want to toughen up apparently. What would he cost? The type of sniper Spezza needs..

Perry is a UFA at the end of the year. That would be a terrible trade without Perry already signed to an extension.

Brassard becomes redundant as soon as Spezza is healthy.

No, but the fact that he can't play wing makes him redundant. That is the biggest concern. We would be better off acquiring a Jamie Benn type of player. A player that can be effective at both wing and centre. Therefore we could play him at centre until Spezza is healthy and then move him to the wing.

Apparently. People were fine with getting rid of Foligno because ge was apparently easily replaceable. Dont get me wrong. Methot has been awesome but I dont see one player who replaced what Foligno brought last year. People acted like we had 40-50 pt guys ready to burst onto the scene.

If we can add a Brassard or equivalent player, we should make that move. Scoring depth is never a bad thing to have.

It was my understanding that he hasn't played wing for the last two years. If he can play wing, then he would be a good acquisition. If he can't then he becomes redundant as soon as Sezza is healthy.

Another option we could consider is acquiring a play making winger. A playmaking winger would help generate offence and wouldn't become redundant as soon as Spezza becomes healthy. Also it is an area where we are currently lacking; Alfie is our only play making winger and he is very close to retirement. Stone and possibly Prince and Hoffman are the only play making wingers in the system. Therefore we can leave Zibanejad or Da Costa as a top six centre until Spezza returns.
