Would the Bruins ever trade Lucic to Edmonton?

Would they do it? What would it realistically cost?

You'd think they might ask for one, or maybe two of the kids. So probably more than you're willing to give.

Lucic is a one-of-a-kind player. Physical forces that can produce points don't grow on trees.

No. Too much for Edmonton to consider it.

He is the league's most intimidating forward and a good scorer to boot. One of a kind player. The cost would be prohibitive.

Would they: No reason to, unless overpayment. They get solid offense with Lucic, plus the intimidation factor. He's the kinda guy you want in the playoffs.

Cost: Hall or Eberle minimum.

Sure, if it was a deal they couldn't refuse.

Going on the premise that the Oilers are trying to pry him away from Boston it will take a lot. Probably so much that it would make the Oilers a worse team.

I'm not even going to guess but I think it is safe to say that it would have to include Eberle or Hall or RNH.

Honestly if i were Chiarelli and Edmonton offered Eberle (plus?) for Lucic, I'd seriously consider. Top 6 loses size, but gains pure offensive talent.

The closest Edmonton is going to get to see Lucic in Oil colors is if Mitch Moroz turns out for them.

I personally don't think I could trade the kids. I think I would do Eberle plus a 1/2 pick in 2014 + a prospect for Lucic.

I'd do Hall, Klefbom, and a 2nd in 2013 for Lucic

Lucic-RNH-Eberle
Hemsky-Gagner-Yakupov

As an outside fan I would be all for this if it would end the Taylor vs Tyler threads

Not realistic at all. Not one player either within the Bruins own organization or any player returning in the deal from Edmonton would be able to replicate what Lucic brings to the table, therefore it's a non-starter.

Obviously everyone has a price but the Oilers wouldn't be too fond of dealing both Hall and Eberle to land Lucic and nor should they be giving up those assets for Lucic.

It's difficult to see it happening because their culture is built around Lucic and he does so much more (other than score goals).

Eberle and Klefbom

How has no one even commented on the irony here?

Lucic was selected with the Oilers pick they got for dealing Sergei Samsonov.

this trade would only happen if lucic had a terrible rest of the season, and even then Yakupov would be the asking price. Honestly, it would be stupid to trade hall or eberle, the two of them together on the same team would ensure they would want to stick it out for long term!!

No interest at all in trading Lucic.
Having said that, if Hall or Eberle were on the table, it would be very hard to say no.

Speculation is the contemplation of a subject. I'm tired hearing about the lack grit size on the oilers we all know Mr. Lucic would be the missing piece to our top six. If it was Eberle plus, I could live with it. As many have said " Lucic isn't moving".

Don't think the Oilers would need Lucic for that price.

Lucic only got a 3 year deal from Boston, although at a 6M cap hit.

Tough guys decline fast, would be surprised if he is useless he is 29-30 years old.

Glad you are not , There is no player on the Oil that will get you Lucic one for one.

I dunno about adding Klefbom but Lucic-RNH-Eberle would be absolutely disgusting

I'm a huge fan of Lucic as well and he is the type of player the Oiler's need in the top 6, but not for the price of Hall let alone adding Klefbom and a 2nd.

Edmonton could benefit from Lucic's size/toughness up front, but there would still be no equivalent to Chara on defence. The Lucic/Chara combination is what drives Boston's physical game. How to duplicate??
