Kunitz benefitting from Crosby or what? Wow. Sid is constantly looking to set him up. However, would be nice to get someone on Crosbys line that could return the favor. See how easily he put that puck in off the rebound? Need to get someone who can get the puck to him like that.

Letang-Eaton
Orpik-Martin
Nisky-Despres

I don't want to hear Bortuzzo's name again this season.

Working on little sleep, but wasn't that Despres with the great hip check that took the Hab oout of the play and the puck just kept going?

Would have been early in the game, first half of the first period.

-TK always good for a crosscheck or some other miscellaneous call.

Eaton was even yet played 19 minutes.

Kunitz looked every bit NOT a "glorified 3rd liner". He was in full top six mode tonight.

Such a weird game but I never got angry and somehow knew the Pens would win it. Price was awful, maybe that was why.
Letang is not terrible offensively. He's elite, maybe the best, at transitioning the puck from defense to offense at even strength. He's terrible on the power play.

Oh, I absolutely agree on that front. In a case where it is literally goal-for-goal, I would wait for them to pull their star goalie first.

I was mainly concerned with starting Vokoun in the first place. Still don't get that one.

Oh, and man oh man, what structure and accountability the Habs have. Unbelievable!!!!

Edit: And Eaton was really good.
A couple of under the radar items . . .

1. I thought Dangles really showed me something in the physical department. Went into the corners with Slewban, took and gave the hits, and came out with the puck a few times.

2. IMO, this was the most engaged I've seen James Neal all season.

3. If Simon Despres ever-- AND THE KIRK MEANS EVER-- sits again, then Bylsma . . .

4. Matt Niskanen, despite the +3, was NOT good at all, not by a long shot.

++++Despres.....He should never be scratched again.
+++Cooke
+++Sutter
+++Bylsma for getting Dupuis back with Crosby and Kunitz, and getting Neal and Cooke back together with Sutter inn Geno's spot.

---Vokoun is fighting the puck
---Orpik....He is the change that needs to be made.

Lots of minuses but Kennedy outright sucks.

Too small to be physical. No vision to be able to make pass and possesses only a weak shot. Now he's taken stupid penalties. If you're going to be invisible, be invisible and stay out of the box.

ONE MORE THING: This was a 'fun' game to watch, but it was fun in the way those early April 6-5 games were last year. All the red flags were there, and it wasn't just goaltending, not by a long shot.

+ Crosby
+ Despres
+ Sutter (2 more goals than J. Staal so far this season)
+ Kunitz
+ Cooke
+ Price having a bad game
+ Consistent penalty calling

- Vokoun having another bad game
- TK
- Orpik
- No hat tricks

- After appearing in nine games, Vokoun has a 0.883 GAA.
+ Despite having a 0.883 GAA, Vokoun has a winning record.

If that qualifies as an 'adjustment' for Bylsma, then we're in more trouble with the coaching than I thought.

Have to agree there. There's absolutely no reason at all for that kid to sit again.

No sarcasm here. The Habs are structured like crazy, but for the most part the Pens offense was picking them apart in the offensive zone. This was as close to "Penguins Hockey" (what it's SUPPOSED to mean) as I've seen in a while.

And you know what? Therrien has grown up. He's yukking it up right now with the media. I can imagine his reaction a few years ago to a game like this.

I guess one plus is that we somehow managed to score 7 goals with no Geno.

Still say its a must we do not trade Depsres, no matter how many d prospects we have. Trade Orpik or Nisky if you're looking to make a hockey trade for a winger

I was being ironic about how much *****ing is done about him offensively despite the fact that his production the last few seasons has been at an elite level, just because his shots often get blocked/miss the net.
