Mallace was a terrible replacement...

I'll ask it again... where's Romero? Wasn't he supposed to be a good player?

But man, do we suck or what on the left side??? Mister Saputo will have to do something about it. Because they will suffer throughout the season with a left side of Mapp and Nyassi. Add to that Brovski, who wasn't very good. Never was a fan anyways.

MDV looked great in the 1st, then he looked like MDV circa 2012 in Montreal in the 2nd.

Wow Mallace was not impressive at all in this game.

I actually like Arnaud now.. he works hard and backtracks more than anyone on the team. No technique but all heart.

Thought so too. They said he's homegrown.

I think Schalli was trying to protect the lead. Mallace is a more defensive option although he was terrible out there. Warner would've been a more logical choice.

Pisanu is a real winger. Finally feels good to have one that knows how to stretch the play, attack the defenders and cross the ball.

Mallace did not play well on the ball. He looked nervous and out of solutions. Without the ball, he played a solid positional/defensive match. Forced one or two bad crosses just with his positionning. So not that bad after all. Schalli doesn't seem too high on Warner. Was on his ass during the pre-season games, I remember him shouting often "Collen! Collen!".

Great team defendinng. Nesta and Ferrari aren't well.. Ferrari's, but they know how to use what they have in their advantage. Camara had a hell of a game. He literally single handedly closed the right side of the field and frustrated 11+40 000 fans.

Set plays also impressed me. Schalli seems to understand that we aren't the tallest team, so is incorporating nice set plays to use at our advantage (Near post flick on's, low balls, etc...)

If your referring to Halak, isnt it Jaroslav not Yaroslav?

Notes:
Di Vaio utter garbage the second half.
Nyassi is way more dynamic than Mapp.
Pisanu should not have been subbed out. His facial expression summed it up.
Arnaud played the chippy game you expect from him with a tad a skill.
Felipe had his moments of brilliance.

Mallace is NOT a winger and should not have been used there to begin with. I had no idea Arnaud would of been that effective by playing middle midfielder, he wasn't the same player at all.

Indeed Nesta was amazing. I was worried he would get tired but he made an amazing play at the end of the game.

Di Vaio had a very good 1st half but was very lazy in the 2nd.

Must be said though, Arnaud was solid today.

Can't be that hard.

Already won 1/2 the amount of games that we won last year just after one day

Amazing game by Nesta and Camara.

We're going to need some more offense though. I don't think Di Vaio is the answer as he looked exactly like last year with little to no finish.

Boom.

Serriously though. Poor guy, cause if Justin Mapp actually had speed or stamina, he wouldn't be that bad of a player. When he has a chance to shoot, he usually ends up with something interesting (Lets face it, Technically hes one of the best in the team. That Volley against Lyon comes up to my mind) Decision Making wise & physically, he has to be down in the bottom for sure

I only saw the second half, here's my thoughts:

-Perkins had good interventions on corners, followed the ball well on the last "cross/shot" and must've said something brilliant to those posts.
-Ferrari and Nesta are super solid.
-Camara was good before getting his bell rung.
-Brovsky: okay. Got owned on that "toilette" and I didn't see him help up front but that's not really his fault since there wasn't a lot of opportunities to do so.
-Bernier was solid, great passing and was the only one with poise in his play.
-Felipe was a bit less visible but I heard he was injured in the first half.
-Arnaud had a good half: beauty goal(wasn't during the second half but...), had that great chance where he hit the crossbar. He also made an unbelievable defense play when he came from behind to tackle Rosales.
-Nyassi was same as usual: brilliant at times, unbelievably dumb the rest of the time.
-Mallace was bad with the bad and in possession. Looked nervous.
-MDV had some terrible first touches and made some bad passes. Looked lazy at times but that's typical Di Vaio.

Also, ref Petrescu is a ****ing disgrace.

Mapp and Nyassi are probably the two worse at decision-making and they are our only left wingers.

Impact gut it out for entire 90 minutes. Get result on the road as Perkins gets more than a little help from the woodwork. Some folks are even saying positive things about Davy Arnaud.

I like Arnaud and Mapp. Those guys are not perfect but they have a lot of qualities that make them starters and face it guys lately they scored very important goals for us . Mapp is able to make something out of nothing with is dribbling skill and he has a good shot. Arnaud plays his heart out on the field and he can make things happen offensively and backcheck to make defensive play.

I think we as a fanbase have too much expectation about Romero. He's a promising prospect but he hasn't show up to now that he can live to his potential . In preseason matchs he didn't WOW me it is not like he scored goals or make tons of decisive pass.

the ball frequently took the Pisanu line and got off at DiVaio basically every time.

I don't know why Pisanu was brought off.

Nesta and Camara were clutch.

Bernier was impressive.

Nyassi was strong as well, probably could of buried one.

Arnaud played hard, and was involved.

Mapp had a few solid plays, but he should be a sub.

I would have liked to have seen Wenger or Smith come on as a sub.
