The crowd has to be a help to the team. We fueled them on tonight. FNC looked loud in the 3rd.

Fun Fact. Ehrhoff led the team with 26:56 in TOI + 4 PIM. That's almost 32 mins of in game contribution. No wasn't that fun?

The way he was playing, that's about 25 minutes too much. Awful game from him.

But I guess he's allowed an awful game every now and then...but we need him to be better.

Great bounce-back game for Foligno, I thought. Poms too. I'm pretty excited about CoHo these days. He's the real deal. Pretty sad when Weber-Pardy is our most reliable defensive pairing. Myers is beyond lost. His decision making is absolute ****, and his puck handling skills in the d-zone are atrocious.

Kaleta and Ott continue to do their thing effectively, and it's fun to watch.

Henrique and Clarkson are a bit ridiculous -- but I'll take both those guys any day of the week.

Just read the NJ post-game thread. Stay classy, New Jersey ; )

I see there are a lot of negative Myers comments. I didn't watch the game too hard, but I saw Myers make a lot of really nice plays.

He did and respectfully so but at times also he looked lost and confused. I worry about Tyler.

The problem is his brain farts are monumental screw ups.

He has plenty of good shifts...but his screwups nearly always lead to goals or Miller having to bail his ass out. And his good shifts just aren't enough to overlook those mistakes.

And we know he can be better.

Zzzzz.. These trolls don't make me care for half the season and now they finally decide to play with some intensity and heart and now I'm sucked back in.

Hodgson is sick

Also, LOL Devil fans are so mad.

G-
Gritty tough play. It's been awhile since I saw that for an extended period (more than a period)
Ott
Kaleta
Pominville
Another win for Rolston
Miller
Porter and Flynn were fine (Like Matt Ellis, right Freddie?)

B-
Losing face-offs and staying in our end for so so long chasing and chasing. It's so bad some games.
Foligno was improved, but after sitting a game I expected more from him. I thought wrong

U-
Ray trying to be a color guy
Missed calls on both sides. Not a great example of top notch reffing.

He had one truly ugly, terrible play and a few too many soft clearing attempts that didn't make it out of the zone. He also was active with his stick all game, making it hard for his man to control the puck, and had some huge blocks. People pick out the things they want to. Myers had good and bad moments against NJ. He's 23. I get that people want more, but he's a defenseman, and when do those guys usually hit their prime years? Like 25-28? He's got time.

Myers deserves all of the flak he gets. Constantly out worked and overpowered in puck battles by guys half his size. I was as big a supporter of his as anyone's, but the facts don't lie. He looks like pure garbage. Every decision he makes, I say "he should have (done the exact opposite of what he did)"

This was one of the worst officiating performances I can recall. The awful call on Zidlicky on OT, the phantom trip on Ehrhoff, the boarding on Porter that was a bump from the side. Brutal. Brutal.

I loved the choice Rolston made, under two minutes left with a big d zone draw, sends out Porter/Flynn/Kaleta, they buckle down and clear the zone. Smart. L'antiRuffbre.

Like joshjull said, if this kind of performance happened nightly, but the record was the same as it is now, I wouldn't be pissed at all. They looked like they tried.

Ott is a keeper. Flynn impressed me to an extent. Grigs in my eyes gets better by the game, though he's still at a useless level (it's all relative).

Stafford continues to drive me nuts. Can't stand him, sorry.

There's way more to it than that kind of outlook. A few notable things:

- the regression. You're not supposed to get worse by the season, certainly not by the game, as you advance into your career

- the sample size. As it gets bigger, it becomes clearer and clearer that the Calder year was really the HenrikCallinder, and at he's just maybe not that good?

- the offense has disappeared.

- the toughness has dissipated

- the confidence worsens, decisions get poorer, hesitation grows...it leads you to worry that this is what he is

Yeah, there is plenty of time for him to regroup himself and become an impact player. I'm just falling farther and farther away from wanting to be the team that takes this project on, and as the games go by, I want more and more to trade him while he still looks appetizing to many other GMs.

Missed most of the 2nd half, I'll watch a replay tomorrow and maybe update my post.

G:
- Cody's two apples. Both pretty dirty feeds.
- Grigs play on Hecht's goal.
- Pommer getting back in the goal column.
- Finally beat Sabre killer Johan Hedberg.
- Dominated the draws, specifically the guys actually playing center. Cody, Ennis, Ott went 35-22 combined. 48-33 overall.

B:
- RJ's pronounciation of Loktionov.... "Lok-ton-i-ov"
- Just lose. Seriously.

Hodgson was great tonight. Vanek out? No problem, the 1st line will still contribute 2 goals. Awesome performance.

Kid is 23 but looks like a 30 year old when possessing the puck (in a good way).

If he can fine tune his defensive skills, especially (obviously) when the other team has established possession in our zone, he's the true #1 center the team hasn't had in aaaaaaages. And I mean long before Briere...he has the potential to be the combination of the good traits of Drury and Briere combined. Cody has skill, good size at 6', 185lbs., and a great head for the game. I'd think he would be in line for a letter when we rid ourselves of Stafford and Vanek moves on.

One of the problems with the power play is the lack of movement. I would also put Hodgson on the first unit, especially since both of his linemates are on it. Let him take the position over to the goalie's right, like LaFontaine did, back when the Sabres had a decent power play. Patty used to play the whole two minutes, and run everything from there.

My 6 year old loooooved it. She was going nuts after every goal. My 4 year old was excited but the goal horn was a little too loud for him. My 2 month old slept through the entire game, heh.

Hodgson was great. His hustle and pass on Pommer's first goal was a thing of beauty.

It's nice to see Grigorenko look to be having fun out there (re: Hecht's goal).

No sulking from this kid. Refreshing to see.

I haven't been this entertained by a game against the Devils in years. It looks like these guys set the stage for some animosity in Thursdays rematch.

Yea, I have to admit I don't understand the reaction of some of these Devil's fans. The game was a bit chippy, but nothing to drastic. I certainly didn't see anything for anyone to get bent out of shape on.

I think this mild turnaround would have happened with or without rolston. They really aren't last in the conference bad talent wise. Just young.
