I would love another Finnish star goalie on this team but at the moment I have my doubts about this team being good for anyone truly unproven. With the way this team plays and the lack of consistency and confidence that has infested this team for 3-4 years now, this team could well be the death for many. Not trying to be overly negative here but just keeping my expectations low.
This team needs to fix its core, change its mentality, only then can they translate new guys into success. On another team Backlund, Irving, Baertchi etc. could very well develop into success already, but on this team it's very slow coming.
I'm just not going to expect much in any realm from this team...
Avangard won 1-0 today in OT and Ramo was absolutely lights out. There was a string of 3 straight penalty kills in the second period to keep the game tied at 0 and Ramo made some spectacular lateral movement saves, and a couple of really nice saves on deflections. Just thought I'd keep whatever Ramo fans there are updated on how he's doing.
Avangard now leads the series 3-2
I didn't get to see the OT because I had to go to work, but it would appear as though he stood on his head in that frame too until AVG could score to get him the win.
Dude is on fire SV% of .943 GAA of 1.37 has 2 shut outs and given the ROR rule he won't have to pass through waivers aka he could very well come over when his season in the khl is over.
Avangard lost to Sibir 3-0, Ramo with 25 saves and the last goal was an empty netter. The series is tied 3-3 so there's a chance his KHL season ends on Tuesday...
Could the Flames not just buy out the remaining contract in that case? I don't see why Avangard would have a problem with that as Ramo is not coming back next season. Would save their owners a couple of rubles. I'm not at all versed in KHL contract legalities but if everyone was OK with terminating the contract surely it could be done.

yes the Flames could buy him out. But I think Avangard will hold onto him as long as possible to try and convince him to re-sign with them since he is their top player and the only reason that team has taken their 1st round playoff series to 7 games.

Yeah, with players playing in the KHL and formerly the RSL, I'll never believe a player is coming over until he's in uniform and on the ice.
so many times in the past has a player been speculated to come over, has "wanted" to come over, has even said they are coming over, only to re-sign a couple weeks later. Ramo is now a proven commodity in the KHL, he could earn far more than what he'll get in the NHL off the bat (which I speculate would be something like $1m/1-year/1-way).
So while it's promising that the speculation suggests he will come over, I won't believe it until training camp next year.
How does the waiver rule Not apply to Rammo if u wanted to bring him over?
The ruling was if he plays any eu game then he has to pass waivers.
The rule says if the player is on the teams Reserve list or RFA list they are exempt from waivers I would imagine he is on our RFA list since Feaster wants him to come over.

the rule is actually if a player is on "a" teams reserve list or reserve list
And again we wait Congrats to Karri on another stellar performance in a big game, man his team is awful but he pulled out a 2-0 win with some absolutely stunning saves, including a 6 shot final 30 seconds to pull off the shutout.
What are the chances of Avangard or other KHL teams throwing fat cash at Ramo? I'd imagine he'll be getting some big offers especially his team after his playoffs

Based on everything I've heard of him and from him, I believe it is sole intention to come to the NHL if he is given the opportunity to fight for a starting position, as well he has said in the past that he would love to play with Kiprusoff.
Don't know how reliable we consider this source, but it states good and bad:
Good: Ramo will sign here when his contract is up
Bad: Avangard won't release him until the playoffs are over, which is exactly 4 days after our season ends.
