Smith stayed in Montreal. And I think Schalli's plan was to sub in Wenger for MDV but he had to bring in Iapichino for Camara because he got concussed.

Pisanu was on a yellow, pretty sure that's why Schalli took him off

I hope so because that was an awful decision and replacing him with Mallace was even worse.

Mallace looked overwhelmed by the pressure applied by the Sounders.

Also, that crowd is impressive. Even for European leagues it'd be a big crowd

Good start for the team. A win on the road is a bonus. Impact did not win many out of Montreal last year.

This team has the elements to make the playoffs and even go very far.

We play LA in early April...

Well at least it was a good test for the game against Portland.

I read many articles saying that Mallace is one of the best players in practice. I have watched him play last year and last night, and every time he played I thought he was terrible. Yesterday, he made some errors that I never thought a professional soccer player would make. He was that bad. I don't know if it's nervousness but next time better to use Warner.

I'll tend to believe its because he was nervous because of what you just said and because he was much much better in his appearances last season.

And let's not overlook the fact that yesterday's game was played on a slippery sheet of plastic. He completely misjudged the bounce on that pass he received from Di Vaio in the box. The playing surface is also why Arnaud's header didn't give us a 2 goal lead.

Mallace is a good young player. Give him time and guidance and he will replace Bernier when he leaves/retires.

Portland wont be a walk in the park but are some of you forgetting NYRB in 3 weeks

It goes without saying Henry will be harder to contain than EJ

Could be worse, I was working night shift.

Is the game worth watching on Illico ? Only saw Arnaud's goal. Man what a sick play from Felipe.

They play in the seahawks stadium. It's an open roof, synthetic turf.

Decided to watch the replay of the game on TVAS from 1 to 3PM since I missed it last night, only to miss the whole 2nd half because I fell asleep listening to the hlaf time show. After reading this thread, doesn't look like I missed much though

Can't wait for March 16th!

Couldnt figure out how they got the name Sounders but according to wikipedia it may have something to do with "Puget Sound" (inlet)

Romero join the club in florida, he didn't play a lot cause he was not in the same shape as the others yet. With a lil more time he will be up par with the others in the fitness department.

The only thing Romero will need after this is some time to acclimate to the style of play and the team like Pisanu who didn't impress anybody until he got is rythm.

Once done he will probably take Mapp place. Would be weird to loan him and waste a international slot on him only to have Mapp and Nyassi in front of him.

Good job by Arnaud for his game. Still not sold on him but he deserve the credit.

Bernier was really good he had terrific defensive skills and help a lot with is offensive talent to get the ball forward in a fluid manner.

The team was not perfect but its the first game of the season its to be expected. Some players will Boss some not so much and changes will be made accordingly.

Seattle is situated in the Puget Sound region that is where the name Sounders came from. Does anybody remember Seattle use to have a NBA team ? The Supersonic main star was "The Rain Man" Shawn Kemp . People of Seattle seem to be uses and even attach to the rain and it sounds. I must congratulate their fanbase they make lot of sounds and to see 50000 fans under the rain for a MLS game.

Seattle has to be the hardest place in MLS to play.
