Even though I think the value is fair, judging by how many Wings fans are jumping to take this deal, I'm starting to second guess the deal lol...

It does a great job addressing Wings needs, size in the top 6 and size/defense on our back end.

Filp is a center isn't he? The sharks could soon have a team made up of only converted centers.

As a Wings fan I don't think Detroit would do it. Clowe hasn't played well all year, and his type of hockey seems to wear down a player so who knows where he stands. Murray as previously stated is both: adding defense to a team that will probably be waiving one of theres. Also Murray is to slow and I really don't see him as an upgrade over what they have.

He plays left wing as well.

I'd definitely do it for the Sharks.

I think this is one of those deals that both teams take.

Fair value for both teams.. SJ may need to take some D back, maybe Huskins.

Something is seriously wrong as both sides seem to agree with it.

Though Clowe is slumping this season, it seems like a bit much coming from San Jose. Maybe if we changed the picks.
Considering both are UFAs are both are 40-60 point players, I would think that Clowe and Filppula's values are pretty equal. Murray is probably worth a late-2nd at the TDL.

I'd say Brad Stuart and Tommy Wingels has been tougher than both of them. Clowe and Murray don't do much other than slow the play down and turn the puck over.

Oh hells yeah. There's a reason we made the WCF when he was here.

Albeit a late one I'm not sure why SJ is giving up a pick in this deal. It is minor buy I see this as a bit more fair.

Clowe+Murray
Filppula+3rd

All in all I do think there is a trade to made here.

I'm not sure why the picks have to be in at all.

Valteri Filppula

Ryane Clowe
Douglas Murray

Neat hockey trade.

No, I agree with the other poster. I'd like it if a 2nd or at least a 3rd was coming back to SJ.

The Wings fans who have posted in this thread seem to be unaware that both Murray and Clowe are currently considered expendable by many fans of the Sharks. Clowe is having an atrocious season thus far, and Murray (unless I'm drastically wrong) is commonly a whipping boy.
