As a Wings fan I don't think Detroit would do it. Clowe hasn't played well all year, and his type of hockey seems to wear down a player so who knows where he stands. Murray as previously stated is both: adding defense to a team that will probably be waiving one of theres. Also Murray is to slow and I really don't see him as an upgrade over what they have.
Though Clowe is slumping this season, it seems like a bit much coming from San Jose. Maybe if we changed the picks.
Considering both are UFAs are both are 40-60 point players, I would think that Clowe and Filppula's values are pretty equal. Murray is probably worth a late-2nd at the TDL.
The Wings fans who have posted in this thread seem to be unaware that both Murray and Clowe are currently considered expendable by many fans of the Sharks. Clowe is having an atrocious season thus far, and Murray (unless I'm drastically wrong) is commonly a whipping boy.
