JVR to Edmonton

Edmonton could sure use a LW with some size who can put up some points, which wouldn't be too hard playing with Gagner/Hemsky or RNH/Eberle.

I would be willing to trade Edmonton's 1st rounder for JVR straight up.

So you want to trade what is today a 9th overall pick for a former 2nd overall pick in the midst of a breakout season?

We just acquired JvR and he is having a breakout season, why should we trade him?

He is pretty untouchable right now

any talk of trade sees Hall, Eberle, Nuge or Yakupov going back

Watch the rush at 4:10 of this video.

He has been sensational.

Awesome guy with a good personality.

There is no reason to trade him.

Unless Pittsburgh calls about Malkin.

JvR isn't going anywhere...Leafs haven't had a big guy that goes to the net, screens the goalie on the PP and scores goals since Andreychuk.

I can't wait till Lupul is back and he plays with Kadri and Frattin.

The Leafs needs are a number 1 center and a stop gap top 4 defenseman. With James Van Reimsdyk it wouldn't make sense to trade him for a Taylor Hall or a Nail Yakupov, doesn't really make sense for Edmonton to trade Eberle for JVR which would be an upgrade for Toronto so that wouldn't happen, and the only other deal that could make sense for toronto is JVR for Nugent Hopkins which Edmonton would not do. Toronto isn't interested in dealing him unless the trade would significantly uprade the team's lineup, and Edmonton isn't interested in giving up anyone from that young core. Not good trade partners. Leafs don't need picks either because you use picks to draft guys like JVR. Team is in a semi win now mode. In a playoff position with a young team, its time to start adding pieces to help with the winning.

TML just trade for him . They are not give him to us without an over payment . If we wanted him we should have trade our first for TML first and Shenn then flipped him to the Flyers . That ship has sailed

If we're trading our first rounder this year, I'd hope that its for a player who uses his size more. Don't get me wrong, JVR is playing great, and Leafs fans should want to keep him, but I'd hope that we used that pick for a big center instead of yet another winger.

This is actually not that bad of an offer for JvR, given where Edmonton's 1st round pick is likely to be in this summer's excellent-looking draft.

Up until recently, JvR was little more than a 3rd-liner. But with Lupul and Frattin out, JvR has been given the opportunity to play on the Leafs' 1st line and providing him with more quality chances to score at even strength and on the power-play. Since his ascension to the top line, he's taken full advantage of his good fortune.

The question remains: what happens to JvR when both Lupul and Frattin return to the Leafs' line-up? I guess we'll see what happens soon enough.

Again, Edmonton's 1st in this summer's draft is a good offer for JvR, but it's not one that most Leaf fans here would accept.

He said he made a mistake, now leave him alone and just let the thread die. No need to stretch it out and create a flame-war.

This should be what most Edm fans are thinking. Moving their 1st which is probably a top 10 in a really really solid draft, for yet another winger, seems a little silly.

Id say if it was going to be moved, it would be for a centre with size or in a package for a #1 D.

This is basiclly what we would want. Not that I am suggesting it is fair it is just he is looking so good right now and we really don't have any reason to ship him out beyond getting someone who could be that #1C.

I am on the same boat with this poster.

When u look at it closely and take every thought into consideration, this is an excellent offer for JVR, and also quite an overpayment if it turns out to be a potential top 5 or 6 pick.

I would have a hard time declining this offer if any of one of Mackinon, Jones, Monahan, Barkov, Lindholm, or Drouin are on the table because I certainly think these guy would do much higher impact than JVR and quite easily possess higher potential than him.

But like this poster says, JVR is a pretty unique player that we haven't had in a long time. He is greatly needed here in Leafs nation because of his big size, frame, speed, skillset, and ability to go hard to the net.

Toronto would want RNH, and yes we would add.

No, it wouldn't be crazy amounts of stuff like Rielly, but we are willing to be reasonable about it.

JVR isn't worth RNH, what a ridiculous comment.
