No guarantee either way; I just want to watch fun hockey, personally. In any case, it's fairly obvious to everyone (and one would think the front office included) that this team is no where near as close to a contender as they might have thought. I don't think any late season run will change that, and now that they've shown they're willing to make serious decisions (letting go of Ruff), I have faith they will begin to address the many issues we have.

Knicks are in MSG vs. the Heat today I believe right now. It takes a while to get the ice set up. Basketball ruins everything.

A little offtopic, but I wanna know without starting a new thread: was the reaction over @ the Devils subforum yesterday normal for their fanbase? lol

I'm guessing a 3-2 win for the Sabres in this one against the Rangers.

Per Vogl: no morning skate .. they report to MSG around 5:00PM .. Rolston will provide an update on Vanek's availability around 5:15PM.

Rolston should be a little excited to see Hodgson and Pominville perform well without Vanek. Its a huge opportunity tonight, if Vanek plays, to get Vanek with Ennis. Gives you two dangerous lines.

Ott - Hodgson - Pominville
Vanek - Ennis - Gerbe

Would be awesome if Hecht could come out and Vanek comes back in.

I forsee a close low-scoring games. The Sabres have a slight advantage because NYR are not what they were last year

This. People need to differentiate hate from wanting less TOI etc. Shouldn't be hating Jochen.

That is Hecht hate? He wants him to be a healthy scratch for a game.

All I said was I wanted him scratched.... I didn't say I hate the guy. Common theme on HF is putting words in someone mouth. The dude just isn't a NHL hockey player anymore.

I was just saying how anyone who actually is hating on him should stop, so i suggest you stop putting words in my mouth. If he gets 5-7 minutes I don't see the harm.

The harm is that there is probably more deserving players in free agency and the AHL that deserve those minutes. Hes obviously not the best option, he's just been here longer than everyone else

Free Agency: I doubt Regier is going to sign someone right now. Arnott failed his physical with the Rangers as an FA this season, and that sends up some form of red flag that may or may not signify that other FA's are out of shape. plus, IIRC Jochen is signed just for this season. So this is moot.

Player from the AHL have been promoted to the big club. However (I can almost guarantee you'll tell me how wrong I am), Hecht knows the Sabres system and players a little bit more than the "newcomers".

When the season started, there were not many great options in the FA market that would sign so cheaply. Hecht is a vet here and was signed for 1 year, in a shortened season. While I didn't like how much TOI he got with Ruff behind the bench, I believe that his lessened minutes is better. You get the other players who do deserve the TOI more TOI. Doubt he is signed next season.

I agree but, maybe Miller can steal one.
