I didn't call the band macho, I called- the fans who complained about "Where the Streets Have no name" being too moody/soft for a hockey opener- macho

In my opinion, the opener should be suspenseful buildup, not explosiveness. The goal song should be explosive.

Mediocre song. Guns n Roses are by far better, even today

I don't think G&R are better than anyone if there's one thing I wish never happened was hair metal.

Agreed, it fits better with the atmosphere as well.

Helluva lot better than having the tripe that is GNR and Nickleback as the opener.

Burn it to the ground isn't a bad opener song. But this is the internet, everyone hates Nickelback no matter what.

Love it. I get where people are coming from wanting a more "pump up" song, this one is certainly more in the vein of Streets, but **** it, I absolutely love this song and this band.

And everyone who is calling them a hipster band, you're behind the times. Japandroids are officially mainstream, the Hipsters are jumping ship.

If anything, Japanroids sound like a new retro-grunge sound. They also wouldn't likely been in the mix if they weren't from Vancouver.

I'd classify it as noise rock but the musical elites here probably have another term for it. The song sounds the same as all their other songs: shouted lyrics over repeated barre/fifth chords.

Saw them on Conan the other day; if that was any indication of what they usually sound like then these guys write garbage music.

Guys, the new intro is right here.

Lights turn out, the song starts and builds, then it cuts to 2:10 right when the players run onto the ice.

I think this song would give the same feeling that Where the Streets have no Names gives off, while having a bit of an edge to it, especially with the guitar tone. It could also please the electronic music crowd as well.

I listened to the album a while back and didn't really feel it. I feel it even less as a hockey anthem.

I agree. They (and that video particularly) remind me of Spinal Tap.
