At least in Higgins' case, he doesn't suck.

If we're chasing a defensemen though. I like Demers out of San Jose. Kid reminds me a lot of Gorges, though less of a shot blocker.

Got cut by Taylor's Hall skate. He even finished his shift on that play.

Yeah well would you be willing to send Gorges for him? (Not necessarily one for one)

Noooo noope, not really at all. Unless you're referring to his untapped potential. He's a RH PMD that plays special teams; Gorges is more a defensive defenseman, a shotblocker.

Canadiens should pursue Ben Eager and Mark Stuart

Two former Rick Dudley guys, Eager in Chicago and Atlanta, Stuart, traded from Boston to Atlanta, (2) rugged players that can play, and they come cheap (salary wise)

I've been wanting Eager for a couple of years now. He's a good skater and scrapper. Can't be worse than Armstrong or Moen now, can he?

Eager was a former 1st rounder, from the Ottawa area, could fit nice here in Montreal, Montreal's defense look to be wearing down, Stuart would be a nice addition, not sure what's wrong with Jorges, he looks slow, plays small, seems like he's on his ass and getting hit hard every game

Mark Stuart would be a great addition doubt Winnipeg would trade him though, Ben Eager sucks and takes tons of stupid penalties so pass on him.

Mark Stuart. We need more diversity on the backend. Subban and Emelin carry too much of the physical load. Also, Stuart is a decent D-man.

Ben Eager, with a brain, could be a very good scraper, too bad he doesn't have one.

Mark Stuart would be a nice fit.

Ben Eager is a dirtbag.

100% agree. But he's a dirtbag that won a cup in Chicago with Bergevin being assistant GM, so I could see why he would think he could be a good fit. I don't think Eager is the solution at all, he can't and won't take on the multiple heavyweights in our division.

Stuart is obviously a player every team wants. Jets would be stupid to let him go and I'm not sure this team can spare more than the weak d-men we have.

If Eager could actually fight I could understand, he showed more back then, but now he's dumb and crazy without being intimidating. He's barely even effective as a cheap shot artist.

LeCavalier

Vincent LeCavalier

Trade talks are heating up about him.

The hab's have been mentioned often.

What would it take for him do you think?

Would you want him? He has a monster contract 85 million 11 years with 7 years remaining I think.

If they trade for him. God don't include Pacioretty or P.K. in the trade. I'd stop watching hab games.

Even without considering his ridiculous contract, we have no need for Lecavalier.

That being said, if he got bought out by TBay then I think the Habs would have interest. Otherwise...not a snowballs chance in hell.

But it would give the analysts something to talk about.

Lecavalier is a salary dump, I would give Gionta + Bourque at the most and I'd want a decent prospect in return. I've seen the reporters thinking they could get a decent return for Lecavalier but I don't see it happening, much like the Luongo situation, only this contract is worse.
