Khabibulin's cup run was incredible. His lateral movement was something I still look back on and wish that our goalies had. He was lightning going post to post and I would give up Stewart, or another asset not named Lidstrom, Datsyuk, or Zetterberg, in a heartbeat.

If Khabibulin was making around 2.5 mil a year less I'd consider it. What an awful contract. I was going to suggest that maybe Edmonton will buy him out, then I remembered he was a 35+ signing.
Ever since the Wings tired to sign Nabakov, people on HFboards have been coming up with these trade proposals that include the Wings trading away our core players for their teams goalie (or back-up).
The Wings tried to sign Nabakov (a guy with excellent regular season numbers) for under 600K, it's not like they were trying to pull off some desperate blockbuster deal for a goalie.
When Khabibulin will be back from injury are interested in to have rental experienced back up. It might take only late pick. I think Oilers will offer Whitney and Hemsky too since they need to throw towel to the rink after a couple of weeks.

Trading for Khabibulin makes ZERO sense for the Wings. Would rather have Gustavsson at this point anyways.... Wouldn't want Whitney either.
