Apparently Chara said after the game he didn't know about the metal plates

if not because of last night's fight, he would have only 8 PIM. Strong discipline for a guy with this style of play. Long time since we had one of those, he's a keeper.

I like Emelin a lot. Hopefully he keeps up the good work and doesn't get "gun shy" because he doesn't have much support. It's happened before.

The Bruins were crosschecking Habs players in the back all night, the one time one of their guys gets crosschecked he goes down like he got shot.

Awesome game by Emelin and love that he tried fighting back vs. Chara.

Some bruins fans say they supported Chara's actions and that's fine. However, I don't get why so many don't support him going after Scott for pounding Thornton's head in

Either way, that was huge by Emelin and I hope everyone patted Emelin on the back/ shin guards for that.

What made me laugh are the crosscheks McQuaid gave to DD that sent him flying after the MaxPac goal, and David freaking Krejci after an offside with no tension skates behind PK and gives him a little crosscheck in the back. I mean, so gratuitous and useless, and we're talking about Krejci here...

Kudos to Emelin. I still think he should be on left though.

I'm sure Chara didn't even know that Emelin was even on the ice, that was just a hard hockey play.

Sick and tired of them getting away with this crap, looking forward for pay back one day when some sand paper gets to the bigs.

Marc get some help now... I guess we have Four weeks, I believe our fourth line and extras will look different on April 3rd.

I really have no problem with what Chara did. He was a captain sticking up for a teammate.

However, props to Emelin for fighting and getting us nearly 20 minutes without Chara on the ice.

Good for Emelin for showing true guts and standing up to that bonehead.
Im a habs fan but you can't blame chara there. He's the captain and he sees a player taking liberties with the teams younger star and he goes. Whether or not Evelin deserved it is a matter of opinion. I had no problem with white going after flash after he ran George's in the numbers even though fleischmann is pretty much a stand up guy. This wasn't a "get a jump" type of fight, it was a "stand up for a teamate" fight.

I feel for emelin but he throws a lot of hits ( big ones) he can't hide behind the plates in his face. I don't think the cross check was all that bad, but if the other team thinks you are taking liberties, you are gonna have to answer the bell, no matter what your personal situation is.

Couldn't have been that bad, they won 4-3

Both of them were +1....maybe you're thinking Pittsburgh game

You can't tell how well a player played simply by looking at the score, or even at the stats.

You have to judge their actual play.

So emelin can become Steve ott, running around and doing anything and never have to pay the piper?
Chara went because he believed emelin was taking liberties. Anyone who is against a captain standing up for a teamate doesn't understand the game, plates in his face or not.

At least emelin has dropped the cage.

Chara did what every Habs fan wanted our tough guys to do since Nilan was traded.

That said, I agree with another poster who said "why didn't Chara revenge Thorton's beating with John Scott?"

Yes ,and their actual play was good, good enough to win.
Stats don't always tell how good players play cause sometimes their great but don't get on the scoreboard, but in this case they were good (not great) and the stats backed it up
