I feel like the Bruins would be a tough face though. Plus, they have a rivalry with Montreal who I would definitely choose as the heel in that rivalry but you do have a point. They are feeling slightly heelish recently.

Well, I can't blame you for not being honest I don't know about the list, as I don't feel strongly about any team fitting those general perceptions. But I would put the Leafs into the heels category.

I'm in the group that thinks Shootouts suck (mostly because the flyers suck at them) but they are still better than ties. Nothing like watching a game for x amount of hours to see no one win

I would hate the SO much less if the Flyers decided to try to be good at them.

Not too sure about the west yet. Thoughts?
I think I would put the Lightning in the faces category. I think St. Louis is a fan and media favorite for his size no? Stammer and Vinny get the spotlight from time to time too. Everything else looks about right. Capitals trending toward heels just because Ovechkin has been putting in a lackluster effort this season, making people like him and by extension the Caps less, IMO.

Meh. I never had a problem with ties. The only thing that I see as a positive with Shootouts is the playoff races. With so many three point games it really makes that more interesting.

Well Cam Ward is out 6 weeks with a MLC sprain..... does anyone think we could sell them the idea of taking Leighton back??

Dan Ellis and Justin Peters are their starting goalies now.

Also now Jose Theodore is out 6 weeks according to Mckenzie. We can actually see what Markstrom is made of.

Mike Brown traded to Edmonton for a 4th rounder.

Not claiming one player is better than the other, but:

Mike Richards
4g 9a 13p -6 17:06 per game

Brayden Schenn
6g 13a 19p +4 15:28 per game

is at least interesting to look at, +2 rnd pick, + Simmonds.

Carter is carrying richards too. Many of Carters goals are just phenomeal efforts on his part not so much mike setting him up. Richards will never be that ppg player again.

He was phenomenal and the Richards we remember before that concussion in December...ever since he's been a shadow of his old self. It's been over a year, so that ought to be distressing for Kings' management.

Stephen A. Smith thinks the Heat's current streak of 14 games is more impressive than the Hawks streak. Thoughts?

Disagreed. There's zero parity in the NBA.

That's pretty much my thoughts as well. Plus Stephen A is jack*** so his opinion on anything means little to me let alone hockey.

He also thinks the 19-0-3 means they have had 3 ties

That he didn't know Columbus even had a team. No bias at all. The guy is a professional troll.

Change in the draft lottery...

NHL changes draft lottery

POSTED: Monday, March 4, 2013, 3:59 PM

Sam Carchidi, Inquirer Staff Writer

Under the new NHL rules announced Monday, all 14 non-playoff teams can get the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 draft.

The Flyers, of course, hope it doesn't affect their selection. They are currently No. 8 in the East, but they have played three more games than the New York Rangers. New York is one point behind the Flyers, and the teams meet Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

A lottery will be held April 29, and it will be the first time in NHL history that all teams that don’t qualify for the playoffs will have a chance to get the top pick.

The draft will be held June 30 at the Prudential Center in Newark, home of the New Jersey Devils.
Quote:
Here is the likelihood of each team getting the No. 1 pick:

Team 1: 25.0%.
Team 2 :18.8%.
Team 3: 14.2%.
Team 4: 10.7%.
Team 5: 8.1%.
Team 6: 6.2%.
Team 7: 4.7%.
Team 8: 3.6%.
Team 9: 2.7%.
Team 10: 2.1%.
Team 11: 1.5%.
Team 12: 1.1%.
Team 13: 0.8%.
Team 14: 0.5%.
