There's some discussion in the Free Agent/Signings section about Jagr.

Would you give up:

Caron
Cross
3rd

For:

Jagr

I say yes in a heartbeat, but some other Bruins fans there have said absolutely not. Thoughts?

Briere makes a ton of sense for this team. Though I don't know who they'd pair him with? Centering Marchand and Seguin, and bumping Bergeron down to 3 with Kelly and Pevs?

Still Briere is a playoff warrior, and always scared the **** out of me when he has the puck.

I think the AAV is way too high moving forward. If it was just this season, it'd be a much better fit.

I'd venture to guess they'd use one if their buyouts on him after the season, because there's no realistic way they can keep him, sign 2 goalies, a D, and Horton/1st line RW with what their cap situation would look like, without moving a few players/depth.

I don't see the Flyers trading him to the Bruins, but he'd be a great fit here.

I don't think you touch the first two lines if you can help it.

I'm not sure, but maybe:

Kelly-Brierre-Pevs

I know it's moving Kelly, but I don' think that's awful.

I dunno how I feel about that line personally. Kelly isn't the right player to wing for Briere.

The problem with that would be that the Flyers would likely be looking for a return suitable for a player under contract for multiple years, and the Bruins would be looking to give up a rental cost with the intention of him leaving at the end of the season. Either they'd over pay for a rental or they'd overpay and keep him to justify the cost. Neither is a positive situation.

I'd take a shot on him. He won't make it past the Islanders, though. They love them some waiver pick-ups.

Briere is awful defensively. Not sure why people keep suggesting that he could play on our 3rd line.

They aren't handing out the Selke to Bourque, Pouliot, or Ryder, and their upside wasn't nearly (Ryder excepting) what Briere's is.

those guys are all better than Briere defensively though. Briere is a terrific top 6 guy b/c of his offense, but he just does not fit in a 2-way/checking role IMO.

Anyway I'd still really love to see what it would take to get Kopecky. He would add everything we're looking for in the top 9 right now: size, effort, decent skill and skating, left hand shot, defensively sound...

He's signed for 3+ million beyond this year so you'd have to move someone after this season but IMO that's a good problem to have and I think we could easily trade him or someone else to make room.

There were two at Minnesota-Anaheim last week, probably the same two with another guy joining them. I think Chia is definitely looking for some sort of a move right now.
