You don't see them on the ice because they are practically invisible. They just pass the puck around and skate around. They don't do anything productive.

In the last game Legwand had 16 minutes of ice time, Fisher had almost 21 minutes, Erat had just over 21 minutes, and SK had nearly 15 minutes. This has become the typical amount of ice time for them, yet they are playing as if they are getting 0 (by that I mean they are invisible, not doing a thing). They combined for a total of 4 shots on net Saturday. 2 by Erat, and 1 for Legwand and Fisher. SK had 0 shots on net.

Is Erat really that much of a problem?

I think Legwand has become redundant and unnecessary in his current capacity. Fisher needs to stay for the Star Power/community aspect and the fact he can still be a serviceable 3rd-4th line veteran for years to come.

I heard Boston is looking for some help....

why don't we do something like this

To Bos: Legwand, Blum
to Nsh: Caron, Spooner

Also to note, Wilson isn't himself lately either. He has only 3 shots on net in his last 7 games. This really is starting to become an epidemic with the team.

Our biggest problem is having to rely on those guys for offense. While they are underachieving, those guys shouldn't be expected to carry an offense and we are seeing why.

Would you guys do something around Halischuk for Tallinder?

I'd love for the Devils to get Halischuk as a 3RW. When everyone is healthy:

Ponikarovski-Henrique-Halischuk/Bernier
Carter-Gionta-Halischuk/Bernier

This doesn't help Nashville at all. Nashville needs offense.

IMO this is an absolute no. We need Blum around incase we try to move him in a BIGGER package that can improve scoring.

And Hali probably could be had but not for Tallinder. IMO Hannan is our weakness on D but I don't see us trading for a defenseman and scratching Hannan the rest of the season, plus we have Gill who i believe has been hurt but will be coming back. If we trade Hali it'll be for a 3rdW or something of that nature. Don't see him being moved unless he's packaged with Blum for some reason.

Hannan hasn't been bad, but Blum has kind of turned back into a pumpkin after starting off strong.

problem is that...eventually Gill will be healthy, and he's no better.

How's Tallinder doing this year? Where does he fit in your lineup?

In the press box.

Not a good trade target.

That doesn't really accomplish anything for us. Tallinder is redundant to an embarrassing degree. We need forwards who can score.

EXACTLY. Of course, we all know this but I'm going to second this once again haha.

I'm really pissed at SK's lack of production over the years. He plays like a p**** andd doesn't shoot nearly enough. He's got a good shot and it just pisses me off to no end when he doesn't shoot the **** puck!

What do we do with him? He obviously just doesn't get it.

Maybe a team is interested in Legwand's playoff experience? Maybe even a 1st?

If you need an neutron bomb for this team you have a problem. Most of the Vets have NTC/NMC

Erat, Legwand, Fisher, Gaustad. You can't trade Weber this year.

Fact is, I think you are stuck with this team for this year.

Situation analysis: these are the horses you are stuck with. Deal with it.

Hannan and Yip are UFA's next year. Both at most could get low pick end of day picks.

NTC's are waived routinely. Fisher had to waive one to come here.

one thing to think about when wanting a firesale is the cap floor. I don't know how close we are, but trading those guys for picks prolly won't work

Not at all saying I'd deal him, but probably the most valuable player we have (largest return) is probably Erat.

I actually think Paul Stastny may be a good fit here. He needs a finisher. We have always been -1 in that department. However, he has the puck skills and distributing ability that would really elevate one of our forward lines. His cap hit is high, but this makes his acquisition cost lower. I think a package around Blum is not only feasible but worth exploring. If we are a cap team, this is a move we at least look at. If we aren't, then it is a horrible idea.

He's a free agent this summer. I'd rather take a shot at him July 1st. If we're giving up Blum I'd like to have a player signed at least through next year.
