Thanks for posting that G. I'm glad the GMJN sees the size issue and is actually being proactive about it now. I too expect Robidas and Larsen to be traded soon.
Also, does anybody know how the Iginila-Calgary situation is going? Will he become a UFA? I think there's a VERY good chance he ends up in Dallas.
Hopefully you are right, but I can't see Joe being OK with 3 small D.
He created the problem by shipping away Fistric and Grossman. He assembled a lineup where 4 of 7 d are undersized.
He may not be okay with it now, but fixing the problem is a whole other matter. To fix it, he'll have to turn to free agency where quality D man are very expensive or go the trade route. As difficult as it is to make big upgrades on defense, Larsen's spot may very well be secured when Robidas walks (that is assuming Robidas isn't given another deal).

Someone said Dallas could trade for him, and it might have been Garroich. He's the one that said Cole was available the weekend before the Dallas trade. He took a ton of ****, but obviously he turned out to be correct.

He wasn't going to give Grossman $3.5 million, and would you rather have Fistric or Dillon? When they made the trade he said it was for guys like Dillon.
If they can flip him as part of a package for a marquis guy, then I'm all for it. We have enough pieces we're waiting on, enough guys we're banking on reaching their potential (Oleksiak, Nemeth, Dillon, Larsen - and that's just the d-men). We need an established top-four d-man.

Flames GM Jay Feaster hasn’t decided what route he’s going to take with Iginla yet. If Calgary does put him on the market then the Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks are all expected to make a pitch.
Roussel has been great, but they signed Whitney to be a force on offense. I imagine they could ease him in on the Eakin line, but Whtiney will eventually settle in the Top 6.

I still think he'll be fine playing with Eakin and Smith. Keeps him out of opponents top defensive minutes, allowing him to work his magic. Plus Smith and Eakin are decent to good defensively. I don't think Whitney-Roy-Cole would work.
Morrow may take Roussel's spot but I don't know why he would considering what he and Roy have going on.
whitney should be top line and eriksson second spreads out the offense and eases the pressure off benn from being the play maker on his line, Cole will likely take the top 6 spot from Roussel when he cools down, but I think Morrow will be the problem in lines because he really didn't do much when he was on the fourth line before.

You have no idea how to build a roster. Please stop trying. Stick with focusing on how you can magically fix the Oilers.
I'm a stars fan I don't cheer for oilers... i'm just from edmonton.
and how is whitney being on the top line instead of eriksson so far fetched? whitney was one of our best forward before the injury and eriksson roy were getting some chemistry before eriksson got moved to the top line.

I think the problem is that Whitney, Benn, and Jagr are too similar, both offensively and defensively. That line has been exposed defensively and needs somebody to shore it up a bit, ie Loui, and also a great finisher, also Loui.
I like the idea of Whitney on the 3rd line from Frozen Failure because Smith could probably use a better setup man to maximize his production.
Morrow is the only problem with the forwards since I don't think he will be all that effective with fiddler-nystrom hopefully gm joe is thinking of moving him soon. I would rather have Garbutt on 4th then Morrow
That top line is a defensive nightmare without Eriksson there. That second line seems to have some chemistry. Eriksson is there out of necessity. I don't consider Eakin and Smith to be a "third line" but they're still a fairly balanced scoring line.
