No way. We need our #1C way more than another young winger when we have Kuznetsov and Forsberg coming up.
As a fan of neither team, I agree with this guy. #1 Cs are a lot harder to find and are more important than upgrading the wing. Especially since longterm there's no reason to think Washington is hurting on the wing anyways.
Bad deal for Washington, solid deal for Edmonton since it would give them two legitimate 1st line Centres while still keeping Hall/Yakupov to ride shotgun, assuming neither RNH or Backstrom have injuries derail their careers.
Two struggling teams that need a shake-up. Obviously Backstrom's a valuable asset but I don't see WSH getting much in return for an over-paid Ovy/Green.
To Washington: Jordan Eberle
To Edmonton: Nicklas Backstrom
Ward-Gagner-Fehr (Laich takes over LW when he returns)
You cannot be from Edmonton, i mean common you and everyone else know this is a massive overpayment, take out atleast Gagner then its realistic from an oilers standpoint. Gagner is still pretty young and is kicking *** this season, Eberle put up a 70+ point season last year and is still very young, MPS is young and will get better, and then you add a 2nd?.... Dont get me wrong Backstrom is a good player but he is not that good even with Brouwer added there is no reason for the oil to do this.
