See how silly that sounds?
hmmm...

Krayon= "draws" a lot of penalties.

I have always been partial to "Nifty Mitts", or "Nifty Mittens"

I love shouting out "The Dream" whenever he makes a special play or scores. Love this kid.

Nifty Mittens too.

I had him in my mind as topping out as a second liner at best a while back.

Pleasantly surprised this season so far but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves..

Should Kadri be in the discussion for Hart? I don't think he would win, but he is our MVP for sure. I just saw a note about it in the NHL.com power rankings and wondered what you thought.

Nasty Naz >>>>>> Any other nickname, although Krayon is pretty funny to say when he draws a penalty.

The dream, Krayon, Nifty Mittens, Lebanese Breeze (my suggestion) are all better nicknames than what NHL players usually get, which is just a 'y' added to their first/last name. Examples include Bozy, Army, Clarky, Kuly.

You forgot to mention how much you have liked him since he was drafted.

Good point. NHL player nicknames are usually very uncreative. They add a 'y' or 'er' like 'Schenner'. But two good ones are Killer for Gilmour...and a pretty funny one, 'J izz.' for Semin.

Increased Checking is what Nazem can expect soon, wonder if that will open up things for Kessel's line or Grabo's, these 2 guys will need to start pulling their weight, if Nazem's line gets shut down.

Nothing wrong with the simple "y" suffix.

If people started calling Naz "Fatty" I would find it pretty funny

From the TSN team Super 16 Power Rankings

Quote:
Toronto Maple Leafs: After the Blackhawks at 16, there are two teams tied for second in the category of regulation/OT wins at 13 -- the Pittsburgh Penguins and Toronto Maple Leafs. With 21 points in 22 games, Nazem Kadri deserves some Hart Trophy consideration, although he's still on the fringe of that discussion.
