Scott Glennie to habs

What kind of return from Montreal for SG?

Probably zero, which is why Dallas holds on to Glennie in the hope that he finally puts it back together, or else throws him in as part of a larger deal with a team that thinks he needs a scenery change to turn it around.

Future consideration. Might push it to a conditional seventh.

I think Scott Glennie is still out with a broken finger, I cannot see Dallas moving him, I understand they still have high hopes for him.

I still have hopes to win the lottery (not the NHL lottery) and still nothing.

They have hopes but I wouldn't call them high. At this point hoping for anything more than a role player with upside is about the highest I'm optimistically willing to go. The better question is why would another organization want to give up anything of value for him. It's fair to call him a failed prospect who has a slight chance to somewhat redeem himself by meeting staggeringly decreased expectations.

Why give up on a player who's 22.. At the same age Patches was a ''scrub'' in MTL. (According to some fans)

Hold to him and see if he can put it together.

Patches put it all together.

Glennie has a low hockey IQ, always gets injured and is unmotivated. I can see Dallas trading him to Philadelphia. Reunite him with his buddy Schenn and hopes he puts it all together.

He still has good hockey attribute... I could see him turn into a good ''middle'' 6 player.

When we say "always gets injured" we're not exaggerating. The guy is 22 and he hasn't been able to even stay healthy for a complete training camp yet. In juniors it was rumored that teammates felt Glennie was "injured" whenever he felt he needed to be. From everything we've seen and heard (he apparently came to Texas Stars training camp out of shape) the guy has all the attributes of a weakling or at very least a primadonna. Of course, not a single thing he has done actually playing hockey has done anything remotely close to making him worth the headache.

The fact that Max Patch was being labeled a bust early in his career says a ton more about the Canadiens fanbase than it does about the player. He scored 24 points in 37 games for you guys as a 21 year old for godsakes.

After a few more years of doing nothing, another GM will think this and sign him, but he just hasn't looked capable of NHL level hockey so far.

Literally nothing.

I think an ideal trade at this point would be Glennie + 6th for Klingberg in Winnipeg.

Scott Glennie? THE Scott Glennie? The Habs have nothing to offer that would come close.

Anything to get that bum off this team.

What a waste of a top-ten pick he turned out to be.

He should come to Columbus and join up with his other buddy Calvert.

A 5th would be more attractive than Glennie and a 6th.

This lines up quite accurately with what I've heard about him.

Without getting into too much detail, I've heard some other things about Glennie that would make me extremely hesitant to bring him along, even as a reclamation project.

He's our future head coach, I don't want to move him. Keep The Scott Glennie happy.

When is the last time a bust center became a top-5 goalie?

This goes back to what the Habs fan said about Paccioretty. Just because some player is considered a bust in a fishbowl market doesn't mean they are actually generally considered busts by legitimate national media. Kadri isn't a bust and shouldn't have been considered one. Again, Glennie hasn't had even remotely close to the kind of minor league success Kadri had. Kadri was always a good prospect he just happens to play for the Maple Leafs, which means more people have to have an opinion about him.
