Tallinder for your 3RW

Some Devils fans think we need a top six winger, I'm more on the boat that we need another winger to solidify the bottom six and hope chemistry is formed in the top six. Devils have good complimentary top six players in Ponikarovski and Zubrus on the LW side. In my perfect world, the Devils forward line-up looks like:

Ponikarovski/Zubrus - Loktionov - Kovalchuk
Elias - Zajac - Clarkson
Ponikarovski/Zubrus - Henrique - ??????
Carter - Gionta - Bernier

Centers can be moved around, but I think we need another RW to solidify that third line spot, because Butler was our best bet and now he's a Predator.

Clutterbuck and Halischuk are two names that have been tossed around.

What? No. We don't need another 3rd liner. Poni is not a 1st liner and I strongly believe that's why his production has slowed down (especially compared to last year.) We need a first line/top 6 forward.

And you can't say "we don't have the assets" given what other fans expect in order to acquire a player like Cammy or someone with low value right now in Weiss.

That said the ONLY name mentioned thus far that interests me is Stafford. Like Weiss he has underperformed thus far but has the potential to be a 30 goal scorer. However he is a RW and unless Deboer swallows his pride and moves Kovalchuk to LW (which we all know he is a fan of Kovy on RW.) what does your first line become? Henrique-Zajac-Stafford? Kovy is a first line winger so getting a player like that would make little sense unless you get Kovy back at LW (Kovy-Zajac-Stafford)

The roughly would be
Elias-Loki-kovy
Henrique-zajac-stafford
Poni-JJ-clarkson
Cbcb line

While a top-6 winger would be most ideal, a 3rd liner may be more realistic. Stafford intrigues me most, since he has the capacity to fill both of those roles.

I would also like to echo the sentiment of Ponikarovsky being meant for the third line. When Zubrus gets back, I would definitely want him as the #1LW instead of Poni.
