Wondering what would it take to get Okposo from the Islanders?

Caron+ Bartkowski + 3rd
or
Knight + 2nd

or am i just way off.

Instead of posting : Kyle Okposo isn't going anywhere counter offer on what Islanders are looking for to improve future.

The Isles have lots of prospects at every position.

What this team needs going into next season is someone who can put the puck in the net, a top-4 dman and a goalie.

It is unlikely that Okposo himself returns any of those, so if he is traded, it is more likely to be as part of a package.

The Isles have many needs, but we could use a #1RW for Tavares, a #2C to help generate secondary scoring, and a top-4 d-man. A #1G wouldn't be bad either.

If Okposo is dealt, I would hope he is included in a package to acquire one of the aforementioned needs. If not, the Isles are stocked with prospects that could fill some of those needs so they don't need more prospects in return. The Isles biggest problem is that the whole team is miscast in roles that are above their ability level on a playoff team - Tavares excluded.

If there is a deal to be made between the B's and the Isles, I would think Visnovsky would be the most likely. He's a rental for this year only, but he can still play at a high level and would be a great pickup for a playoff team.

Visnovsky for a 1st.

Isles don't want depth trades for core players.

Isles have a bunch of unproven youngsters. No interest in Caron/Knight/Bartkowski or that decent pick.

If Okposo is moved, it'll be because the isles think the grittier, more physical Brock Nelson/Nino are ready to come up and replace him. Okposo would then be moved to upgrade the top 4.

Who would the bruins want to lose ? Our top 4 are pretty solid unless Visnovsky is gonna drop down to the third pairing.

What about a deal involving Niklas Svedberg in Providence whos posting great numbers.

Jared Knight would go along nice with Tavares too as Knight is a small bull who crashes the net with a great shot. Goes into the dirty areas too.

Isles wouldn't touch Kaberle's contract, not even for futures imo.

And Streit sounds confident , that Snow's gonna give him the extension he wants.

Brock Nelson, Nino, Sundstrom and Ullstrom also go to the dirty areas, would also look nice alongside Tavares.

See the problem? The players Boston would move, Snow would not want because they are no better then his own incoming youngsters.

Well what does it take to get him then?

Caron is somewhat proven as hes played almost 71 games so far. Albeit not great numbers but I think a change of scenery will do him good.

Ill counter then and say McQuaid + Caron?

Koko (sniper top 6 potential) + Bobby Robin (fighter/hard hitter) + 2nd?

What is Caron bringing to the isles that Brock Nelson/Nino/Strome/Kabanov/Ullstrom/Sundstrom/Lee/Perrson not bringing?

Isles just signed Brain Strait to a new 3 yr deal, after seeing how solidly he played in the #4 spot. McQuaid's not bumping Hamonic/MacDonald/ Streit out of the top 3 spots and the isles will have Reinhart/De Haan/Donovan fighting for a spot in camp.

Snow is not trading a 24 yr old, on a very cheap contract for picks/prospects.
It's too bad Sbisa and Nino share the same agent because a struggling Okposo for a struggling Sbisa, would make some sense for both teams.

Buddy, the isles have snipers/powerforwards prospects with top 6 potential. They have big, bruising blueline prospects.

Isles/Bruins do not match up well. Let it go

The problem is the Isles have a lot of depth in their system, and you are offering depth. The Isles will not be trading Okposo for a combination of assets...they will want one equally valuable asset or to put other assets with Okposo for a more valuable one.

I would not like to see the Bruins trade either of those guys right now and not for Okposo who I am not convinced is so much better than Jordan Caron that they should give up one of two possible starting goaltender prospects for him.

I shudder when I think about what the Bruins goaltending was in the 10-15 years before Tim Thomas, I am all for keeping those guys and seeing how they work out over the next few years. Somewhere along the line the Bruins will move a couple of goaltenders because they have a bunch of younger netminders, but I am all for patience in regards to these guys. Tuukka may be around for another 10-12 years but we have no way of knowing what will hapen in the future and since they have multiple high quality guys, I want them to just wait it out and see which one develops as we all hope.

I am hoping the Bruins add someone better than Okposo.
