L. Eriksson to NSH

To Dal: Blum+ Hornqvist/Smith + 1st

To NSH: Eriksson + 2nd

Just thinking to myself here. Eriksson would be an upgrade on Hornqvist and Smith for the time being and easily our best forward right away. While we lose a dman in Blum I think we can afford it with Ekholm in Miluakee

Value there Dallas fans?

I think if you double that offer, Dallas fans might still say no.

This man is correct. You want Eriksson, it starts with Weber.

Woah woah woah... you can't start with arguably the top defenseman in the league for someone like Eriksson. That's no disrespect to Eriksson, who I value highly, but compliment to Weber.

That's a joke.

Neal>Eriksson and you saw what he brought back.

Benn>Eriksson

I'd change it to: Ellis + Smith + Watson

That should be close value

Considering what he brings to the team, defensive game plus scoring... no it was not a joke.

they're both right. Weber is likely the only position player Nashville has that could bring back a player like Eriksson.

Why does Dallas trade its best winger and a 2nd for a bunch of lesser pieces?

Eriksson>Neal by quite a bit. Neal is a sniper while Loui does it all. And Neal didn't even bring back a great return. It was a pretty bad trade. I would say:
Josi + Wilson + 1st and 2nd

This is close to what I'd even consider.

It's not that Weber is equal to Eriksson as a player, it's that Eriksson is that highly regarded by Dallas, he's not for trade so you have to overbid, and Weber now makes an ton of money. Eriksson is even more highly regarded than Benn in Dallas.

Us Kings fans have needed a winger like him for quite a while but unless Dallas goes full rebuild, we know/learned that it's pointless to bid for him. Guy's way underrated. Still.

I would love Eriksson, but there is absolutely no way in hell Dallas trades him. And if they did, it wouldn't be for that.

Say what? A very poor misguided attempt to devalue a player! Eriksson is better than Neal and anyone who says otherwise if unconscious when watching the Stars.

Benn is not better than Eriksson...yet! He will never be there defensively as Eriksson but to say Benn is better than Eriksson is crazy talk.

Nieuwendyke got absolutely bent over in that Neal trade, and to say Neal > Eriksson is a bit of a stretch. Put any competent winger next to Malkin and Crosby and you'd get the same results.

If Nashville were to trade for him though, I'd like to see Ellis in the deal personally.

This is just wrong. As to your proposal, we have no interest in trading Loui Eriksson so you're going to really knock our socks off to get any interest.

Colin Wilson and Roman Josi would be interesting pieces to start with.

IMO Benn is better than Eriksson. He's having a rough go of it defensively this season in the minus category but he and Eriksson aren't in different tiers defensively, though their defensive styles are different.

That's truly absurd. Weber is easily a top 5 d-man in the league. For him, Dallas would be giving up Benn +.

There is no reason for Dallas to trade him. There's no room for Wilson in the Stars future when you've got Benn, Faksa and Eakin for future center depth. Dallas needs more skilled wingers to play with those centers when Jagr and Whitney are gone.

You guys are missing the entire point about Weber and Eriksson. Weber has more value and Eriksson wouldn't get Weber but there's not another player or package that Nashville could put together to get Eriksson. They're not good trading partners because Nashville has nothing to offer Dallas. That is why people are saying you would have to offer Weber if you wanted Eriksson. Nashville would never give up Weber for Eriksson and Dallas would never give up Eriksson for a bunch of average pieces thrown together.

Remember the Kessel trade; that's the only kind of deal Smashville could put together to possibly pry Eriksson out of Big D...overpay is the only way.
